In need of a buddy

I am new to this site, and just finally got a surgery date scheduled. I would love to find others to chat with, but each time I go to the chat room, people really never talk to me, or when they do, it's completely off subject. I have sent emails to many people, but have only gotten one response. Does anyone have tips on how to get support from others on the site? Or does anyone else need a support buddy too? My surgery date is November 10, 2004. Thanks

Jill, I also am new to this site. I am traveling to a different state to have my surgery. My brother is Hospital Admin. and his wife is head Surgical Nurse so I am going to their hospital.
