I don't dump on sugar as well, so sometimes I do struggle with eating too much sugar. I cannot eat ice cream though, liquid sugar! Just try to have a little of what you are craving. I don't believe we should deprive ourselves of all sweets, all the time. Moderation.

I do sometimes make bad food choices, but I try to just ge tmyselft right back on track again. I have gone to Costa Rica last year for a tummy tuck, breast lift with augmentation. I am going back in two weeks to have lipo done to a few areas. Hi Debra, Glad to hear that you are getting back on track. I had to do that about 3weeks ago. I have not reached goal yet. I got off track about for a year. Now that I found OH I am back on track. I use fitday.com it really helps. I have about 40lbs to get to my goal of 175. My nut goal is 160. Maybe after ps. Keep up the good work and keep on track. Happy rebirthday to all of us. Carol

Hello there Mitz, I had my thyroid out about 5yrs ago and am taking synthroid too. My doctor has since been trying to regulate the dosage I need to take and it is tiresome. I think I gained some weight back because of the fluctuation of trying to get a dosage to stableize me. We are still working on this. Don't know what to tell you on the coffe thing, I am going to quit drinking it and start drinking ho****er with lemon added so that I can get my water in plus have a hot drink this winter. Hope everything works out, let me know, Deb Allen-Moore

Hello everyone, I just wanted to touch basis with how my allumni were doing. I haven't been real good at keeping in touch but will from now on. I have been going to support meetings at St Joseph's in Park Rapids, MN with my son who is waiting for his date for gastric surgery. I got down to 10lbs of my goal weight of 140lbs and then proceeded to gain back 30lbs. I now weigh 180lbs and am in the process of getting back on track. It really was my fault, I just went back to old eating habits. Hope to hear from some of you and hope everyone is doing ok. thanks for listening, Deb Allen-Moore

Melissa, please look how far you have come! I, too, like my Starbucks, but I limit myself to one tall caramel macchiato - yes, with the whipped cream - but larger than that and I feel close to dumping. I don't go more than once a week and I do it early in the afternoon so I will burn it off. I so do not want to get my fat back. Neither do you! One of the other things - walk on your lunch hour. Take the stairs if your only going down one floor. Don't park right up to the door at the grocery store - park way out and walk up. Little things like that do give you exercise. And I put my cardio walker where I can hop on that puppy and watch tv while I walk!

I had the same problem with the getting tired stuff. What I learned is that it is normal for us to become vitamin B and iron deficient at this stage. You are about as far out as I am. My PCP is not versed in gastric bypass and its physiology, so I went to my surgeon, who pulled labs. I now take the generic form of Trinsicon which is a prescription complex megavitamin B/C/iron with intrinsic factor. You need to remember that you are not like you were before, and you will sometimes need to be in touch with your surgeon for issues related to your new physiology. Good luck and God bless.

Chromium picolinate helps to curb sugar cravings. It's a vitamin. Just remember ~ a little piece of something sweet is not going to hurt you. It's that WHOLE bag of cookies before you noticed it was gone or that bedtime chocolate bar with the 500 calories in it. The idea is not to be deprived, but to be sensible. I don't generally get sugar dumping, so I have had to learn to deal with this problem as well. Good luck and God bless!

I was windering the same thing about the weight gain. I lost from 244 lbs to 110 lbs and then gained back to 117 lbs just this month. I know when I have made bad foos chioces because it shows up on the scale. I am not addicted to weighing everyday but I do use it to help guage my food choices. I went to my PCP last week and all my labs were great except my kidney function. A normal low is 90 and mine is at 85! My PCP told me that I need to drink tons more water and recheck my kidneys in 3 months. I just turned 30 and he said I was way too young to be having kidney problems! It scares me really bad but when I drink water I see the scale move up and I hate it, but I am really trying. If I have to get a pair of jeans bigger than a 2 I am ready to cry! I worked so hard for the weight loss and I have changed some many bad habits, albiet, I am not perfect but I really am taking care of myself much better now. Jeannie 244/112
