Topic: RE: I SCREWED Up to all newbies
Actually there probably aren't any newbies on this board as it is the Nov. 2003 board. It has been over 3 years for us but I am sure that each of us could tell you about stories of having something stuck too. We can all relate to that. Good luck to you and your WLS.

Phyllis,
I usually get that feeling around the end of the month when I am due for my b-12 shot.

Topic: I SCREWED Up to all newbies
Well few weeks post op decided to have a piece of meat 1oz. I did not puree it but chewed it very well. It got stuck. I had massive cramps which occurred about every few minutes. It lasted for 12 hours. After eight hours I went to the hospital. I got dehidrated. They took numerous tests and xrays and all negative. It just took way to long to pass. I could have really hurt my self. I was nausous too. So they have me some meds and iV for a few hours until I felt better and had no cramps. I learned my lesson. PUREE PUREE and more PUREE.
Topic: Goals for October!
What are your goals for the month of October? Your goals can be weight loss related or personal goals. This is for both post ops and pre ops. I personally find that when I set goals it me keeps me on track.
My October Goals
Increase my water intake (pure water)
Try and workout twice a day.
Work on losing 5 to 10 pounds this month. The holiday season is fastly approaching and I want to have room to splurge. So I'm trying in plan ahead.
Make quality time for myself.

I'm experiencing the same thing. I took a test and it did show that I'm anemic. I also think I need B-12 shots, but my doctor won't listen.
One thing you should do is to get in fruit and veggies and make sure you are eating lean protein. Also, you need to do 2-3 short workouts a day to energize yourself. It may mean just taking 2-3, 10-15 minute walks.

Phillis, I just blame it on the summer heat. I have cut back to take BETTER care of myself. You are human. Sometimes you get phases of being up, or being tired.

I am not sure if the low iron (saturation of 8) is what is causing the "dog tired" feeling that seems to be constant with me. I can't seem to do much other than go to work and come home to bed. I've been taking Niferex Forte that my surgeon prescribed and I've not seen any difference as of yet...it has only been one week but I've been good about taking it. He also told me to push through the tiredness and exercise. I went to exercise class last night and thought I wouldn't make it through a whole day of work. THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!
A nutritionist friend told me to take tablespoon of blackstrap molasses three times a day. I have been doing that as well. Thought it couldn't hurt adding it to the iron. It seems a little bit that no one is listening to me (doctors wise) because I feel BAD!! Maybe it just takes a while to get to feeling better but again....THIS SUCKS!!!!!
Anyone else having the same problems?

Topic: RE: UT OH, I'M HUNGRY
You and me both, I have been a bouncing fool. I have gained 15 pounds as well. I was down to 145 and up to maintain at 156 then 159. I was happy at 156. I am now sitting at 172. I have gained more in inches. My sagging thin skin is now jelly filled fat rolls. I need to walk and stop grazing.

You are sooooooo not alone. I have had this same issue for the past several months and have managed to gain 15 lbs!!!!!!!!
I am constantly grazing or thinking about grazing and I have been LAZY over the winter. I am hoping I can get my butt back in gear and take off at least 5-10 lbs (I had gotten too thin if that's possible).
