I had surgery on 11-24 too and am down 39 lbs! I went to have a body wrap done last week and the lady said something that kind of stuck with me. She said, "If the scale said you weigh 300 lbs but you could fit in a size 6 would you care?" It's true, we are ruled by the scale and the numbers but what really matters is how we feel and how our clothes feel. I have lost 42.25" all over plus 17 5/8" from my body wrap (she measured in different spots than I normally do) so that's a total of almost 60"!!! I feel great and have gone down 2 pants sizes as well....we just have to take it one day at a time, it will happen! It's hard to not compare and I am guilty of it myself but I am learning to be patient and think about all the wonderful things I have experienced this far. It can only get better!! Plateaus are awful, I have them all the time.....but I just look forward to the next day and do my best to keep on program. My Hospital's program says PROTEIN only until you reach 75% loss of excess body weight. I am only at like 28% so I have quite awhile before I can eat anything other than protein, animal protein, no beans or anything like that. I try to keep my meals interesting and so far it's working. It's amazing how all the programs can be so different but bottom line....they all work!!

Hi There! I had open ryn surgery on 11-17-03 and I am still having a hard time adjusting to the tolerance of foods. I can't eat to many foods anymore. I'm limited to soups and freshveggies and friuts. It frustrating at times for me cause I get sick so easy. I worry about the limitation of my food choices, but I must be doing something right because I am down 46 pounds. I just disposed of all my 18s and went shopping for some 16s. So that brought up my spirits alittle. I, too started working out. I go to curves, but again I am really having a hard time with my energy leevels which I think have alot to do with my food intake. My hair isn't falling out yet but I'm sure it won't be long now. It's great to hear everyone is doing good. Hang in there and God Bless!!

Hi Candy, my weight loss is going pretty well, i have lost 74 lbs. and am now a size 18-20 or xl. i was 262.5 and now weigh188.5. i started up at curves last week and am very happy with that. it is only 30 minutes or so and is alot of fun. i go with my mom, mom-in-law, and aunt so we all get laughing and stuff. do you find time to snack?? i see alot of other people do and i never seem to find the time to fit it in. i guess it's not a bad thing but i just never seem to find a block of time to get it in around everything else!! Hi, how much are you eating i one sitting? i normally eat around 4 oz total meal not just protien in one sitting. i had my surgery on 11/14 and i can eat anything too. i only got sick once and that was because i was in a hurry and something got stuck and wouldn't go down and after 2 hours there was only 1 way to feel better and that was for it to come up!! other than that like i said i eat anything including steak and hamburger i just don't eat alot of it. also, i really don't have time to snack, my job is in a factory and really fast paced so i only have time for regular meal times. so i guess that helps. but i eat 3 times a day around 4 oz total usually supper is 3 oz of protien with 1/2 oz of rice or noodle and 1/2 oz of veggie. not much carb or veggie but enough to make me feel regular. just make sure you don't eat too much so you don't stretch out your pouch!! good luck stacy

I had my surgery on 11/4, (11 1/2 weeks ago) and I am down 54 lbs. I know there are other who are kicking my butt in weight loss, but I am still loosing, I am not starving to death, and I can with in reason eat what ever I want. (I don't do sugars or anything). I am hoping with my loss being slower then others, that my skin will keep up with me. There are a bunch of us in the same spot...don't give up. It's possible that each surgeon has done things a little different too. Maybe my pouch is bigger. I think my biggest problem is that I am not exercising yet. This move has killed me. My life is slowly falling backinto place. I know I can eat more then I could when I first went to solids..but still...it's nothing in the scheme of things. So, the moral of the story..don't give up. I started pretty slow, and last month I dropped a bunch of weight and now things are slow again. So, I figure that's how it may be..slow for a couple weeks..then a bigger loss...who knows. Hang in there!! Worry about you..how you feel, measure yourself (I have lost tons of inches...it's amazing). And don't be so hard on yourself. Please know that we are in this together..and hopefully we can support each other! Eileen
