Topic: RE: I'm really worried - my appetite is going wild
Honey, relax! My apitite started to increase. I was told to drink more water and to eat mainly protein. The carbs wont give you the longlasting fulness that we sometime need. Also, are you drinking water or other fluids during your meal? Don't drink half hour before and a half hour after you eat. Good luck and email me anytime you have a question. By the way I am almost 3 months post op.

Hi Michelle,
I had my surgery on 11/14/03 in Portsmouth, NH!!
i have lost a total of 75 lbs. as of this morning and i find i get bored with my food by the time i get to the end. i have a hard time sometimes finishing my meal because it is just not appealling to me by the end. i always end up throwing some away!!
i don't eat seafood, never appealed to me. but i love beef and have been very lucky to be able to eat it after surgery. it has to be lean beef though no cheap burger or steak or it doesn't digest right.
i go to the gym too. (curves) and i love it!! i go between 4 and 5 times a week and i look forward to it. ( something i never thought i would hear this chubby girl say!!!)
i must say everyone i have met on the message boards have been very nice and this whole experience has been a very postitive one.
nice to meet you

Topic: RE: time to snack???
well i am glad to know that i am not the only one. at my support group i hear everyone say they snack on this and that. and eat fruit and candy and ice cream low carb etc. and i never have time or find a way to fit it in. which i guess is not a bad thing. but sometimes i feel like i'm missing out on something you know??
thanks so much for your reply

I feel like all my meals are snacks, since they are so much smaller than what I'm used too! LOL
Honestly, at work I have a really hard time, but when I'm at home I never snack or graze. If you're like me (and most of us) waiting 30 minutes or so before or after meals, then it is hard to fit any snacks in! Not to mention trying to get in atleast a GALLON of water, there isn't much room for food after that!
Take care, Kristen

Hi,
my weight loss is going pretty well, i have lost 74 lbs. and am now a size 18-20 or xl. i was 262.5 and now weigh188.5.
i started up at curves last week and am very happy with that.
it is only 30 minutes or so and is alot of fun. i go with my mom, mom-in-law, and aunt so we all get laughing and stuff. do you find time to snack??
i see alot of other people do and i never seem to find the time to fit it in. i guess it's not a bad thing but i just never seem to find a block of time to get it in around everything else!!
thanks so much

Hey everyone,
I'm new to this board, but have been hanging out in obesityhelp.com for well over a year. I had my surgery on 11/14/03 in Denver, and have lost a total of 58 lbs. so far. I've been feeling great and have been able to participate in the lives of my 3 kids more and more each week. I still struggle to eat enough because I'm simply not hungry, but I'm working on it. My favorite foods right now are scrambled eggs and crab legs. Meats and I don't really mix, particularly beef, so I stick to seafood mostly. I'm drinking 65-100 oz. of water everyday and just joined the gym nearby to jumpstart my weightloss again. I also work full-time as a hospital social worker. I'm looking forward to getting to know some of the fine folks on this board.

Deborah, I had my surgery on 11/19/03, I have lost 56 pounds, I too am very interested and concerned about eating. This is what I normally eat in a day and I am still hungry. Breakfast...Atlkins chocolate protein shake (this is by far the best, I recommend you give it a try, avail. in 4 pks at Wal-Mart)...Lunch....4 crackers /w tuna(made w/f-f mayo & relish,3 oz of tuna).....Dinner.....differs.....Gordons baked fish filet...or....ground beef w/cheese.....or....baked ham(no deli meat at all, makes me throw-up)......basically just some type of mean for dinner....snacks are s-f popsicles, which I prob have 2-4 a nite. I hate the fact that I am always hungry and I know I do not get my water in but when I drink water it makes me feel like throwing up, I work out 2-3 times a week which I want to do more. I take 2 flintstones, 2 viactiv(for calcium) & 1 b-12 a day, I would be concerned with your lack of calcium if I were you. But my point is that I need more food choices and I also wonder if I am really hungry or if I just miss eating cause God knows I love to eat! I also sometime snack on an Atkins protein bar, these are the best tasting I have found also, thing is Atkins is expensive but I will pay more for better taste, I actually look forward to the shakes, and I tried ALOT of shakes. I am so tired all of the time and I know we are not supposed to drink caffeine or pop but I think I am going to start to have a dt.mt dew in the morning, I use to drink these before surgery because I dont like coffee, I hope it works. I also have crazy mood swings. Let me know if you have any suggestions on food or anything, I just bought some broccoli and I'm going to start eating that, hopefully it will help to fill me up. Best of luck to you. Heather B 301/246/175?
