Your concern is one that I've seen on this board over and over again. I felt the same exact way that you do. Here is what I eat in a given day.
8AM - I eat a Breakstones "cottage double" strawberry flavor, water, my daily pills/vitamins and a cup of coffee with splenda.
Around 11:30 I'll be hungry for lunch and I'll either have a stuffed burrito from taco bell and just eat the filling (no tortilla) or a wendy's chicken salad or something like that - but I can eat it all without a problem.
Around 2:00 or so - I have a couple of dill pickles and maybe some cashews for protein.
Around 5:00pm I will have dinner with my husband which usually consists of chicken or steak and a vegetable, no starch usually - my husband doesn't eat potatoe or rice either. And I eat a good 4-5 ozs. before I feel full.
Around 8 or 9pm I'll have another handfull of cashews.
So you see you're very normal to feel like you're eating a lot. I hit a long 2 week plateau and found that the scale did not move until I started moving. about a 1/2 hour or so on the treadmill for about 4 days a week. What I'm finding is that it takes very little effort on my part to make a big difference in my weight now. That's all we can hope for. You are going to have to try a little bit. But you'll see big results when you do. Hang in there!!

I got a spam email the other day that made me crack up. I'm sure you will ALL relate. The subject of the email said LOSE 30 POUNDS IN 30 DAYS!! GUARANTEED. And I immediately thought, thanks, I already did. What an epiphany! Just thought I would share my feeling of giddy accomplishment with you all!! :0)

Topic: RE: Weight dropping sizes aren't,anybody else ?????
We had surgery the same day and we wore the same size clothes before and have lost about the same amount of weight (65lbs last monday 01/19/04) are you 5'8"-5'9" by any chance?? I'm an apple too! I have sooo much belly!
The thing for me is that I have lost alot in my legs and upper body but not much in my belly! I have heard, since surgery, this saying
You gain from the bottom up and lose from the top down.
So far pretty true. I lost a lot in my face, boobs and arms. Not much in my belly and some in my legs. I get measured every 2-4 weeks. It's really nice to see how things are changing on those times when my weight isn't changing much.
I started at 300 lbs. How about you?
As for sizes, it really depends on the brand. I can fit into Old Navy's size 20's, but not other brands 22's!
Take care Kristen

Hi, Heather:
Don't be discouraged. I am 10 weeks post-op and have lost 46 pounds to date. I have only dropped one size in slacks to date and can still wear most of my pre-op slacks. Luckily, I have dropped several sizes in bras and blouses. It's very noticeable and I feel great about it.
I was discouraged that the weight wasn't coming off as fast as I thought it should. I consulted with my surgeon yesterday and he's very pleased with my progress. he also reminded me that at age 60 I am not going to lose as fast as the younger people.
In spite of not yet being able to get into regular sizes I am happy with my results. The weight continues to come off and I know that one day I'll again be a size 12.

Hi Shawn,
I still dont know what the two stage is? I had laproscopic gastric bypass. I dont really think i'm overeating, i get concerned sometimes because i have so few problems, and i try any food i want. Sometimes i dont get full right away and at other times i have a difficult time getting food down.
It helps to hear other poeples stories.
Thanks for writting back.

Let me encourage you to take your measurements every week. At first it took forever for the sizes to change for me. When we are that big you just can't see it. But when you get smaller it will be a new size with in 10 pounds or so. Don't be discouraged. Get out your measuring tape. I was on a plateau for 3 weeks never lost a pound but dropped 12 inches. It really does help to see the tape measure move.
Hang in there. Everyone loses at a different rate.

I had my surgery 11/3/03 down 71 lbs today. I am not dropping sizes like everyone else seems to. I was in a 28 before surgery and am just now getting into a 24. What is wrong? Anybody else had this problem? I was very apple shaped and carried my weight mainly in my abdominal area, so I am sure this doesn't help. I just want to know that I am not going to be in Lane Bryant shopping in a year still! Any suggestion? Heather

I too can eat anything. I am not sure what kind of surgery you had done but I had the two stage done. In my journal it explains everything. I know how you feel as far as wondering if you are eating too much. Just make sure you are drinking plenty of liquids between meals and you will notice the snacking to slow down. If you need any help or need to chat give me a yell.

I'm going to see someone who will help me with how I'm eating. PS how do you make the little icons. I tried but it didn't appear in when I previewed my message. Help please. That's alright, it did work this time when I previewed.
