Topic: RE: HURRAY!! I AM OBESE!!!
I have to laugh reading these posts because it sounds just like me. Last week I was so excited because I was severely obese. It was exciting because I started out as morbidly obese. (I really do hate that word morbid and mentioned it to my dr and his nurse). But the great news is I will NEVER be morbid again. I can't wait until I am obese! LOL. Keep up the good work! - I had Lap RNY on 11/4/03.

Hi, my name is Joanna and I had my surgery, lap RNY, done at Abbott Northwestern with Dr. Schwartz on Nov. 4th, 2003. I am down 60 lbs but started alot heavier than you and a size 28. I am down to a size 22 and some 20's but have also lost 40 plus inches. I too feel great and am able to do things again, like playing basketball, without getting overly tired or hurting. I will be having my class reunion next year and hope to be at the same goal as you. Keep it up and pat yourself on the back.

Hi!! first of all i want to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Second, Congrats on the weight loss!! my surgery date was 11/14 and i am into a 16 now and have lost 78 lbs. i am so very happy for both of us!! i really do enjoy going into the "other side" of the store for clothes, they seem to have so much more stylish clothing!! i still have a hard time believing it is going to fit!! and i can't believe i love to work out. have you tried curves?? it's only 1/2 hour and your done. it's really a nice, friendly place to work out. i love it. i go 4 nights a week. i still have a hard time getting in the water during the day because i work a factory job and it's hard to stop to drink all the time, but i do the best i can. have you gotten to the hair loss yet?? i hope mine will slow down soon!! thank god i have thick curly long hair or i'd be bald by now!! but you know, it's all worth it everytime i get on the scale!! just remember that and you'll be fine!! well enough of my rambling Hope your 30th is a great one!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Stacy

Eileen, Happy 30th Birthday. I sure wish I had my surgery 13 years ago for my 30th birthday. You have your whole life of health and happiness in front of you. I also went shopping this weekend. Isn't it great to be in the "normal" size department! I want to buy everything, but until I know where I am going to end up it just doesn't make sense to spend too much money now. (still bought a couple of things though) I had my surgery on 11/3 and I am down 60 lbs today. Yeah.

Topic: 30th Birthday
Well today is my 30th Birthday. Holy crap am I old! I am down 56 lbs. Not where I wanted to be at all for today, but I will take it. I really wished that I was able to have my surgery last February when I was originally scheduled for it, but for some reason HE had different plans for me. I went shopping yesterday. I started at a size 26/28 shirts and pretty much a size 26 jeans. Well, I brought 18/20 shirts and size 18 pants (which are a little snug, it will take a week or two to wear them). Anyway, it felt fantastic to put on these clothes. They fit like a glove. I looked great.....really I looked fantastic. I brought this one shirt that is really clingy, and I looked great! I almost died when I came out of the dressing room. I told my husband, take me out so I can pick up on some guys! I know I have a long way to go. I think yesterday gave me encouragement that I needed to really get on track with exercise and protien intake. Anyway, thank you everyone for posting. It helps to encourage me. I know we are all at different levels, but we all doing fantastic. Keep up the great work everyone!!

That is awesome Stacy! I know i am 23 lbs from weighing less then my husband. I can't wait! I have never been smaller then him. Size wise, I think I have a long way to go to fit into his jeans, but weight wise...I will weigh less then him! What a feeling!!
