Great job Debbie! Keep up the good work! I also had my RNY surgery on 11/11/03. I am now down 63 lbs. and weight 235. I couldn't be happier! I don't have any pictures to share yet, but I am working on it! Your right, we truly have been blessed!

Topic: RE: HAIR LOSS....?
I dont know the answer either but I noticed more hair in the comb when I missed my vitamins for about one week.. Then I got them started again and guess what less hair.. UHMMMM maybe something to the vitamin thing.. also heard that biotin is what helps out hair.. and it is not in the childrens vitamins.. So I buy the Kroger brand adult chewables...

This issue is really WORRYING me alot....I have not started yet and I had my surgery on 11/19/03.....I HOPE IT NEVER STARTS....I also read that it happens around 4-5 months out. Good luck to all of us.

Topic: HAIR LOSS....?
Since we're all at about the same point in our journeys I thought I would ask if anyone has experienced hair loss yet. I have not really seen anything major, but I'm told that it doesn't happen until 3-4 months AFTER you experience the deficiency in your diet. I'm hoping these little strands here and there are all I'm going to lose. Anyone?? thanks Sheri Byrne Poughkeepsie, NY

Topic: RE: sugar!!
I have no issues with sugar. I can eat most everything. I agree with the post above me, I wish I did have issues with it - that would make life so much easier. But come to find out, only 30% of RNY patients will experience dumping. A lot of people will have diarreah or an upset stomach and think they're dumping, but dumping is MUCH more severe than that - and most of us don't ever experience it. But like this other smart person said, if you don't miss it - don't try it. Good luck, keep up the good work. Sheri Byrne

PS: I did see some results when I got my first container of Whey Protien - (www.allthewhey.com), and I added a scoop to a bowl of chili - (I got the recipe from one of the sites I found here on Obesityhelp) making my lunch 50 g of protien - I saw a difference right away, not a lot of weight loss, but it moved. It definitely helps.

looks like we're all in the same boat. I myself had surgery on 11/3/03 and have been at the same weight now for about 2 weeks. I continue to do my workouts and eat the protien, but I'm not going to kill myself. The plateaus are hard to deal with but EVERYONE has them. Just have to keep telling ourselves they will pass. I think at 3 months or so our bodies must say "hey, what's going on here!!!" And then it tries to hold onto every calorie we ingest!! :0) Hang in there, it will pass. You're not being selfish, just normal.

Same situation here no weight loss in 2 maybe 3 weeks. I went to a support meeting last night and one of the women who had surgery around the same time as us is also standing still... This will pass. So they say Deborah
