water; water; water; and no snacking. well, if I do snack it is something high in protein; such as nuts. I work out at least 3 days if not 5 days a week. 30 minutes on the treadmill or exercise bike; and then some weight lifting. food; chili is good; and split pea soup. otherwise some roasted chicken or turkey.

Topic: RE: sugar!!
I've tried things with sugar; some I dump with others I don't. I even tried some so-called sugar free stuff only to find that it contains sugar alcohol which made me sicker than a dog.
everyone is different; and I agree with the previous post; if you don't miss it don't try it. But remember the surgery is only a tool to help us lose weight. We need to be mindful of what we eat and how we take care of our new bodies.

Hi;
doing well with eating. Can't tolerate red meat though.
Turkey; and shrimp are my fav foods
Fav drink.. must be water; but I will say my fuzzy naval protein drink is pretty tasty early in the morning.
nope don't get all my liquids in; I don't feel thirsty so I don't drink. I know bad bad me.
doing about 30 minutes on the tread mill; or stationary bike; then a few exercises with free weights. I tried doing sit ups but there was to much pain in my left side.
I've lost 88 lbs to date. surgery was Nov. 3
Topic: RE: food topic
Hi;
I'm eating peanut butter; cashew butter; peanuts; mixed nuts and protein bars. I mostly use the nuts as a snack if I get hungry or when my kids are running around with candy bars; ice cream; cookies etc. The Protein bars are tricky; some have sugar; some have sugar alcohol both make me sick. I have protein drinks from bariatriceating.com; the fuzzy naval; strawberry kiwi; and banana creme are excellant (i think). My kids even like the fuzzy naval. I eat 2 or 3 meals a day. about 3 to 5 oz. each. I have found starting the day with a trip to the gym; and a protein drink afterwards, I tend not to be hungry till mid afternoon.

Topic: I seem to have broken the plateau...
Hi everyone, I hope everyone else is having the same experience, I seem to have broken the plateau this morning. Down to 210 from 215 last week. I think it was the whey protien. I made an awesome chili that I got off of one of the wls sites and added the whey protien to it, making each 1 cup serving a whopping 45 grams of protien. I have it for lunch and sometimes for dinner. If anyone wants the recipe for the chili, just email me and I'll send it to ya. I love it! Please let me know if ya'll are having any success with the plateaus, I noticed I'm always right in line with everyone else on this board - so if that's true, everyone is having some loss now. :0)

I noticed a big difference when I started stirring whey protien into my foods, - yogurt, chili, cottage cheese etc. Each scoop adds 25 g's of protien to your dish. The increase in protien broke a 2 week plateau for me. Good luck. PS: I got mine from www.allthewhey.com

I am 5'6", and started out at 232 lbs. I had my surgery on Nov 21, 2003. I have not lost an inch or a single lb in three weeks myself.. I have not done anything different I am just stuck.. My mind says dont eat but I know that is not the answer.. I am choosing, I started today, to drink an extra 20 oz of water each day and I exercised an extra half an hour. I am also going to eat some high fiber foods tommorrow beans, bean salad, refried beans lots of fiber see what happenes.. Widh me Luck!!!!!!!

Hi, my lap RNY was 12/1/03 and I am -31 pounds since surgery. I also started at 248 but am 5'2. The only thing I can think of that may be slowing me down is the fact that I also lost 26 pounds prior to surgery and maybe my body is now trying to catch up....don't know. I wi**** were faster, but Praise God for the weight lost!

Congrats!
It's such a great feeling to find that you are a smaller size in clothes. It makes it all seem a little bit more REAL!!
Take care, Kristen
