Topic: RE: A typical daily menu.
I am not as good as you! I uaually drink my breakfast. I take 12 ounces of Atkins Chocolate Milk and 12 ounces of Fat Free Skim Milk and drink this. It usually takes me 2 hours. I then eat about 2 ounces of cashews. For lunch I eat either chicken, ravioli, veggie soup, chili. For late afternoon snack I drink a protein shake or eat 2 ounces of cashews. Supper I usually eat a scrambled egg with catsup. I have a dull menu. I am really bad. Sometimes for supper I eat 2 girl scout peanut butter patties. Bad I know. I get bored with foods. My better days are Sundays when my mother cooks, I always eat good then. I try to get in about 40 ounces of water or decaf ice tea.

Topic: New to site lapband 11/14/03 need support!!
Hi, I am 15 weeks post op I started at 265 and now fluctuate between 225-230. I had a fill 1st time 1/25/04 .4 cc smallest fill my doctor had ever given it worked though lost 7 lbs went back 2/25/04 and no fill since I had lost and now no loss since 2/25/04. I went down 2 pant sizes my breasts and face can get no smaller!!!! I am discouraged at times because I still struggle with many foods even with such a small fill and no weight loss. I know I could be more active, most vegies are a no-no, dark chicken and fish are ok, pasta and potatoes sometimes salad on a good day. I am tight at night instaed of am like most makes no sense to me at all or Dr he just says I am a different one LOL. Any way would love to have some moral support and help me remember why I did this and am I ever gonna get to my goal I feel like never at the rate I am going 7lbs ever 2 months. Ricci

Topic: RE: Any Lap-Banders who had surgery in 11/03?
Ricci, A loss of 35lbs is great!! Dont be discouraged. I'm also very impatient. I read all of these posts from RNY people who have lost 50, even 70 lbs and have the same surgery date. I currently have 1.4cc in my band, I too didn't lose for a few weeks. I now make sure I drink tons of water and get at least 3 days of exercise in and I'm back to losing 2lbs a week. Were you too tight with .4cc? I had an unfill about a month ago, I had 2.cc and that was too much, I couldn't even swallow spit. I've been told that I may have a slower weight loss because I started at a lower weight, so I am really trying to do everything to make this work the bestway for me. Losing 2 pant sizes is wonderful, you should be very proud of yourself. Thanks for responding, I was beginning to think I was the only Bander out there. Nicole 215/187/120-I'm only 5 ft tall!

Topic: A typical daily menu.
I thought it would be fun to see what everyone is eating. Maybe we will get some new ideas. Breakfast: usually 1/2 cup of cottage chesse, coffeeand 1/2 cup of juice. Lunch: a fairly large salade with 2 to 3 oz of protein usually chicken, ham or egg.Snack @about 3;00pm Nuts sunflower seeds or cashews. Dinner: I eat what ever the family is having,But I try to stick to 1/2 a cup. I have a problem with dinner, I have a very bad habbit of tasting while I cook sometimes I have eaten my meal before I sit down with my family.I am full before dinner starts.Does any one else find they do this?Snack@ 8:00pm Usually a serving of protein 2oz. Nov 11 2003 -65lbs.

Topic: RE: help i'm not a loser
I also stopped losing in late January. I have lost 62 lbs.. Amazing isnt it.. But nothing since then.. It is soo hard. I also weigh myself everyday. I hate feeling like a failure.. But I have some success. I started at only 232 now I am 170 in size 14 some 12's and large and medium shirts.. I love how I look.. If I stay at this weight forever I would be comfortable. I workout five days a week and I will be leaner in the next six months even if I dont drop another lbs.. Good Luck and keep up the rules you will lose more... Tricia

Topic: RE: Started a new job..and exercise has gone out the door!
Hi, as for the exercise part of your post. i don't have alot of time to work out either. but that is why i joined curves. i work 6:30 to 3:30 and i get home around 4, change and get to the gym for 4:30. it usually takes 30 to 40 minutes for the workout and i am home in time to fix supper and all the other stuff i have to do every night. i do that 4 times a week and i have quite alot of energy. by the end of the week i am tired don't get me wrong, i work in a factory so i do manual labor all week long plus the gym and everyday stuff but i feel good knowing i take that time for me 4 days a week. that is my time that i do not let anyone or anything come before. you just have to make that a priority and you will find that you can work everything else around it and if you have a curves out there it is only 30 to 40 minutes so you won't be at a gym for hours every night. good luck and have fun!! Topic: Hair loss+Hair cut = Hope!!
Hi, I just wanted to share with you hope for all of you who are currently losing their hair. mine was bottom of the back long and curly and coming out by the clump fulls. i had mine cut shoulder length and highlighted ( it was really dark dark brown) so the color made it look fuller, a couple of days ago and as of this morning the difference is wonderful. instead of a large clump of hair coming out in the shower and again when i combed it later, it was just a little bit. almost a normal amount!! the shortness gives it fullness too. and now there are layers so it doesn't just hang down my back. well, enough of going on about it. i just wanted you to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel!! Good Luck Stacy

Topic: Started a new job..and exercise has gone out the door!
Well, I started a new job on Monday. It has been a very stressful week and I have been exhuasted everyday when I get home. I am sure it doesn't help that I work 6:30 am - 3 pm...so I am up at 5. Anyway, I was lucky in that I have had the last 4 months off of work. My husband is in the military and we moved in December/January, so I just was able to find a job. Anyway, the past month or so, I have been trying to work out at least 4 times a week...either power walking or going to the gym. Well, this week I didn't work out at all. I am lucky I stayed awake. How do you all do it? Do you think it's just the stress? Will working out more help with the energy? The energy has been good till this week, and I honestly wasn't sleeping more then 8 hours a night even while I was off of work. I just don't want to fall into this pattern of coming home and "dying" everyday. I live in San Diego for crying out loud where the weather is fantastic! (that's the only thing nice I have to say about this place). Anyway..I guess I am just rambling...wanted to hear how everyone else is doing it. Also, one more question. Yogurt..do any of you eat it? I get such mixed reviews on this item. It has protien, but a lot of sugar. Good snack...or not? Is there benefits to eating some...or more negatives? Anyway, thanks all for your continous help! ~~Eileen~

Topic: RE: almost 4 months out and FINALLY down 50lbs(m)
Way to Go Heather! You are doing fantastic. Keep up the great work! Don't be down on yourself at all, you have come a long way. 50 lbs in 4 months is incredible! There are A LOT of us who are losing slow...but it has to mean it's normal, and it also means not every surgeon is exactly the same. Just know we are here for support.....
