Topic: I've lost 50% of my starting weight ... :-D
I have just reached another goal. I started out at 309, I have lost 154.5 lbs., so I am 1/2 the person I once was, but TWICE the woman (she said with a smile on her face). So, don't give up hope. I'm still losing after all this time (slowly, but still going down). The "TOOL" can keep working if you treat it right. Best Wishes, All!

Topic: How do we feel
Hi I had my surgery 11-2003 I go through phases for 2 weeks I feel great then for 2 weeks I feel icky low sugars, dumping, tired, pains in my chest that move around like a dull ache burning not sure what the chest pains are they have been going on for a while. I m wondering what people do for breakfast. I am hyperglucemia almost everyday I have a piece of buttered wheat toast with a fried egg w/cheese. some days I try just toast w/PB but a hour later I am hungry and my sugars are dropping. I know protein sticks w/me longer (the egg and cheese). Anyone else out there have this going on. I can not do milk at all. Coffee I have a little sugar w/sugar free caramel vanilla powerdered creamer some days I dump from it and other days I don't. I tried soy cream it just don't have enough flavor. any coffee creamer ideas. I know I have to eat 3 good meals a day and a small snack in between to maintain and not get the low sugars. Sometimes I don't know what will cause a episode anyone have these problems and if so what do they do for it??

I am in the same boat you are. Actually, I had BL/BA last December and I gained like 5 lbs afterwards and then I had another surery and gained another 5lbs and then I was put on a newmedication and a side effect is weight gain. Now I have gained a total of 23 lbs and I feel miserabe. I can eat more than I used to and I am hungry ALL the time. I am only at 135 lbs now but I hate it! I am working out again but as soon as I started the rashes on my abdomen came back and they hurt. Can't affford a tummy tuck right now but I am hoping I can get insurance to pay for it since it has been happening for over 2 years now. But I tried the ALLI diet pills and they did NOTHING. If there is a prescription diet pill to help curve my appepitite wile I get back on track I would LOVE to hear about it.

Topic: Weight Gain
Hello everyone. I am now 4 yrs post op and I have gained about 30 pounds. I actually wanted to gain about 10 pounds but it is like I am out of control with everything. I had a bowel obstruction in 2006 and very quickly after that I gained the 30 pounds. I think the doctor may have done something to my pouch because I can eat a regular sized meal and I have never been able to do that before. I want to lose 20 of the pounds and I am seriously considering a prescription appetite suppressant. Have any of you used one post op and if so, what did you use?

Topic: ADVICE NEEEDED I'm thinking of having the Lap-band surgery
I'm reading in this forum that some people after surgery of several years, start gaining weight. I thought as long as you keep having the FILLS, your stomach would keep getting smaller and you loose weight. How is it possible to gain weight and still have FILLS? Terry in DeSoto

I'm thinking about having the lap-band surgery, but after hearing your problems, I don't know. I'm confused. I thought that with lap-band, when you have a FILL done, it tightens the stomach and you don't have the hunger pains any longer. Doesn't the surgery remove the hunger so that all you need is a smaller portions of food? Terry in DeSoto,TX

Hello Diane I am 4 years and 2 days out, I started at 289 lbs and was soooooo happy at the 142 lb goal I had set for myself. However, today I am scared and weighing in at 165.5 lbs. I crave sweets all the time and have figured out a way to trick my body into not rejecting them (will not share a bad habit). I can tell you that if I can go 2 full days without any carbs or sugars I don't seem to crave the deadly duo, but that seems impossible to me these days. I am going to try south beach diet as I have a friend who swears by it! I will let you know how I do, perhaps that will work for us. I do agree with the other posters...Robin, yes eating at night is horrible, Tracey chicken and hard boiled eggs are a great quick snack and Kevin each day is a NEW day!! Thank you for your insight!!!
