A year later
Well, it's hard to believe it's been a year! Where did the time go? I know that I am NOT one of the more successful people who had their surgery a year ago, but I will tell you all where I am. I started at 268 lbs one year ago today. Today I am at 161. I am also 21 weeks pregnant with my first baby. We are going to have a boy, Joshua, in March.
Anyway, I have gone from a tight size 24 pants and 26/28 shirts to a size 14. I have found out that my surgeon is very conserative with the pouch, something I didn't know until months after my surgery. I know of at least 3 of his patients that are having revisions. I guess compared to them, I have been successful. My goal weight is 135 lbs, it's going to have to weight until next year. I hope to be down to at least 145 lbs by the time my husband returns from his deployment. I need plastic surgery, especially on my arms, but it's all going to wait until I am done having kids. I will start with one and see how I like being a mom first.
Since becoming pregnant I have struggled with exercise, water and protien. I am aware of what I need to do, but it's hard. Some of the old demons are coming back. I am also under a lot of stress. My husband is in the military and is getting ready to deploy. He will miss the birth of our son, and it's just a lot for me to take in. Food seems to be that comfort.
Anyway this surgery has been a life savor. I look at the pictures and I don't recognize that person. Who was I? I just thank God for the opportunity I had.
Well, I must say congrats to all of you on a great year! All of you keep up the great work, and all of you take one day at a time!
God Bless!!
