Ok, so from reading the post below this one I see I am not the only one having problems with family and friends telling me to STOP already! I have lost 158 lbs and am currently a size 8/10 (started at 307 lbs and a size 26/28) I consider myself at goal. My question is how do you stop loosing weight? I am still loosing an average of 1-2 lbs a week. I have added carbs (good ones of course) and have thrown in a protein shake to up the calories daily but its not stopping. My 1 year check up is next month with my surgeon. If I hear one more person tell me I need to stop already I am gonna SCREAM! All my life all I have heard is "you need to loose weight!" Now all I hear is "your to skinny, you need to stop loosing weight!" Talk about messing with someones head!!!! lol Anyway, does anyone have any advice?? Is anyone experiancing the same thing?? Thanks, Kim 11/17/03 307/149

I am told that your body will eventually "normalize" at a weight that it is comfortable with. Whether this is true in call cases, I don't know. I was told to add another protien serving each day, which you are doing. I've done this also, and I have been relatively the same weight for the last month or so. I don't know yet if it's a plateau, or if I've stopped losing. If you are extremely concerned, don't wait for your next appointment, but call your doctor and see what he/she has to say.

Hi, I had the same thing happen to me. don't worry your body will stop when it is done. I was really starting to worry when i wa****ting the bottom of my 140 to 130 range they said i would stop at. then i got to 132 and the brakes came on and i have weighed 132 for over a month and a half and i am done. i did increase my carbs a little but other than that. nothing changed. congrats on the weight loss stacy 11/14/03 263~132

I had the DS, they tell us to add more sugar when we get to where we want to stop. If you are not a dumper you could try that.

The other posts were great but I have also been told that we can expect to lose 10-20 lbs more than necessary and then gain it back. I am now 1 lb. under my goal and not looking forward to gaining. Melissa 314/149/150

I'm hearing the same thing!!! (I have to admit, it's kinda fun ) I've gone from a size 18 to a size 2 (my goal was size 6). I've reversed the rules of the pouch, I eat anything I want, but I'm still (slowly) losing. My MD told me I would stabilize, and probably gain some back. I want to stabilize (try finding clothes in a 2), but I DON'T want to gain. Are we ever happy? (Answer...YES!!! I'm happier now than I've ever been in my life!) JCbelowgoal
