Goals?? were we suppose to set goals?? my first goal was to get off all my medicine (diabetes; cholorestrol; and blood pressure) I did that within a month of surgery. I then reached what I wanted to weigh (180 lbs) and have lost even more. my blood pressure is back up don't know why; so I'm having it checked often; and I'll see my primary care on Friday. May be just the work environment I now weigh 169 lbs lost a total of 137 lbs; and wear a size 34 pants instead of a 48. I enjoy going to the gym and make it there at least 3 times a week if not more; and even enjoy taking the dog for an early morning jog on the weekends. life is good. mark g.

I set a goal weight of 150, which I am now 3 lbs away from and I wanted to be a size 8. Well, I am now a size 4/6. I had secondary "goals" which were to be a happier and healthier wife and mother and I think those are the ones that matter the most and are also the ones I am proudest to say I have achieved. my anniversary is 11-5 and although I haven't quite reached my goal of 155, I am at 169. I seemed to have stalled the last few months, but am determined to get the other 14 lbs off (so I can have a tummy tuck)! my blood pressure has gone from 170/80 to 104/64 and cholesterol from 240 to 168. I am so grateful for this second chance to be healthy and to like myself again. I never thought I would be able to get out of bed and not ache! My weight the day of surgery was 264, but I was up to 312 the day before my daughter was born. I love shopping on the "other side" of the store and not in the plus section! And who woulda thought I had ribs and hip bones under all that! My only problem is that I still see myself as heavy and my body is scary when naked. I kinda look like a deflated Michelin man!! I still have to deal with those issues but all in all I would do it again in a heartbeat! Mindy

My number 1 goal is to be under 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary 11/13/04. I was close but reached a plateau and started gaining, but I will try harder I am determined to reach it. I need to lose at least 20 lbs but would be happier if i could lose up to 40 lbs by then to have a little cushion to back up on. So I have a strict 4 weeks ahead of me. My number 2 goal is to get into a size 10. I don't think I will reach it, but am happy to have gotten to where I am just 2 sizes a way. I guess I could cheat and buy some stretchy pants. LOL One accomplishment I am proud of is that I am now the lightest person in my family of six when I was the second heaviest before. It is very encouraging to pass up other family members.

Happy 1 year anniversary to us all! I started at 300 lbs and am now 189 lbs. My goal was to hit he century club at one year. I did that at 8 months. My other goal was to get to 195 so I could take horseback riding lessons....did that. My main goal was to stay healthy and according to my doctor, I am. My next goal is to get to 150 lbs. I'm hoping to hit that in the next three months. All the best, Charity Oh yeah....being able to cross my legs is cool too.

Great thread Celeste I can cross my legs again, sit in indian style and even jog again. I am so happy with my accomplishments. I started at 268 and I have lost a total of 120lbs. However, I think it's more because I have not weighed within the last month or so. Life is Great!! Diamond
