What is your exercise routine now?
I do Curves three times a week plus two other cardio sessions, which can be going swimming with my nieces, walking on my treadmill, mowing the lawn, or walking all over Dollywood. I like Curves because it is efficient--you get both strength-building and cardio in 30 minutes. What do you mean by "just not getting it now"? You can always increase the intensity by pushing the machines faster.

Hi Mitzi. I do a combination of step aerobics and toning classes, plus, I walk on treadmill and walk as much as I can. I also do resistance training with weights and elastic bands that are used for toning. I think for me, the combination of cardio workouts, plus keeping moving thru walking (both on the treadmill and walks around my home area) are such a key to my overall success. I started working out from the beginning of January 2004 (I had had my RNY on 11/17/03) and now I religiously get to workout 4-5 times per week. It is truly a part of my life and I feel great since I have incorporated this into my lifestyle. Hope this helps. By the way, I go to my local YWCA and this is a great place to go to because the cost is not that high and you get a lot for your money. Take care!
Hi Mitzi -
I think you're probably finding that Curves isn't enough to challenge your body anymore right? - That's the thing with exercise, you have to continually push yourself a little further. I really enjoy working out in the privacy of my own home. I have a treadmill and a roomful of exercise videos. I like the firm - once I started doing the firm videos I saw a HUGE drop in weight and my upper body got really defined. My husband said he could really see the muscles in my legs getting defined when we walk - but I don't see it yet. But don't stop what you're doing - if Curves is all you can fit in, then keep doing it, the best exercise is the one that you do!!! don't overcomplicate it or you'll end up not doing it at all. Good luck!
