Other People gauging what you eat

I have noticed from other posts that I am not the only one to have people question how much or what I am eating. How do you guys handle this?? Especially your Spouse. Jason has been extremely supportive, but he gets really volcal when he thinks I'm not eating enough or if he thinks I am eating too much or something he thinks is a no no. I know he's only saying things because he cares and he's been with me every step of the way & doesn't want this to fail. But it does start to drive me nuts when I get a look whenever I put something in my mouth. Any words of wisdom would be helpful.

My boss does this--I will be sitting down to lunch, eating tuna salad or chicken wings--high protein, low carb stuff, and he will say "Should you be eating that?" I usually will say either "This is exactly what I am SUPPOSED to be eating." (if it is) and "I can eat whatever I want now"' (if it is one of my occasional treats). But honestly, that is why I had the DS, so I won't ever have to diet again. If I want a treat I can have one. My partner doesn't get on to me at all about what I eat--but she does frequently ask me if I have taken my Gas-X or my Flagyl (odors were a problem until I got this routine worked out--two Gas-X with every meal and 500 mg of Flagyl twice a week). Flagyl kills the odor-causing bacteria in the gut (also the beneficial bacteria, I admit and I eat yogurt several times a week to replenish them). It has cut the foul odor associated with gas and stools to about 1/10th of what I was experiencing. It is both much more effective and a whole lot cheaper than either Devrom or super-acidophilis supplements, but a prescription is required. If you had a RNY rather than a DS you probably aren't having these problems anyway. Carolyn DS 11/03/03 317/189

People do that a lot it is because they care I think and don't want to see us gain back all the weight that we have lost. When someone asks me if I can eat that I say well the last time it worked, but this time I don't know. So lets wait a while and find out. Good luck and happy loosing. Stacy 250/175/???

He sounds just like my hubby. Mine has actuly taken things out of my hand's if he knows it's something I am not suposed to have. This gets a little annoying but I know he does it out of concerne for me. If I tell him I can have something and he does not agree he is on the phone with my Dr. asking if it's ok. The really annoying thing is that my Dr. usually agrees with my hubby. Melissa 314/170/150 (Only 20 lbs. to goal!!!!!!!!!)
