Hi; I recently read on one of the obesity web sites; that if you weigh over 100 lbs; you should divide your weight in half and that is the correct amount of fluid ounces of water one should drink in a day. has anyone heard anything like this? I know my Surgeon says I should be doing 8 - 8 ounce glasses a day well, that leaves me about 35 ounces short. if we are to drink half our weight in water. just curious how much water is everyone drinking? mark g. 306/182/170

Fluids all together about 80-100. I drink maybe 24 of water max. I drink decaf ice tea and daily I always drink my 3 8 ounce glasses of fat free skim milk, one 8ounce glass of light orange juice. I know I should ge****er then the other but post op it is difficult. I think it is the size of the stomach. Pre op I was chugging. I did it to assist with flushing my system. Why it is so difficult now????

all of those fluids count - and when I have trouible with plain water, I just drink either tea or lemonade or crystal lite. All of the liquids count.

Lately I've been doing pretty good with the liquids(I also do protein shakes), right at 64 oz. per day total...BUT I'm on the plateau of plateau's...been trying to increase water and exercise to get things moving again...
