Hello to All, Just checking to see how many replies I might get. I am 2 days away from being 8 months. I am doing well. Meaning no complications. I have lost 139 lbs. I am not as active as I should be. No excuses to give other than my own fault. Anyone who has or who has had children in athletics, clubs etc knows how it can be. I am having some time planning my meals. Again no excuse. My own fault. I put others in my family first and am personally getting a little tierd of it. I cook for them and then set and stir about what I can have. Like if I cook pasta what do I eat or if they have casseroles. It is my fault. If they go out for dinner, I watch. My husband has no idea how hurt I am at times, If I tell him he would just get mad and fued. So I am about to tell you my typical menu and if you would respond on yours, how you manage. I would appreciate it. Awake at 6:00 Drink maybe 4 oz of coffee Take my vits. Drink water or decaf tea. 9:00 2 ff/sf peanut butter cookies or cheese, peanut butter on a spoon 12:00 small salad with shrimp, or a turkey bacon melt with no wrap from Subway. I only have them put on tomatoes. (Is that to much? Subway wrap (no wrap) meat cheese) 6:00- I usually have a small portion of whatever meat we have or I make a egg (scrambled) or like last night I ate cheese/tomatoe. I drink lots of milk and sometimes, I throw in a shake. I know I need no lectures about healthy choices. I make them, I do not eat anything like I used to and try to get all my protein and liquids in. Its just I am unhappy that I cannot enjoy my weightloss, be active like I want. The most active I get is a 1 mile walk on my daily breaks and feeding our farm animals. Besides hh chores. I am a taxi. I apologize for being so negative. I am really down. I think my husband needs to go to a meeting for being a spouse of a bariatric patient or something. He needs someone to chill him out.

Here's my sample day and lord knows I'm not a 'poster child' for eating right. 6:30 am 16 oz Crystal Light OJ 7:30am 16 oz Designer Whey Shake 8:30-10:30 Drink decaff ice tea 11:30 Lunch any of the following; turkey, ham, cheese, yogurt, string cheese, cottage cheese, leftovers, eat out 12:30-2:30 Drink more tea 3:30 snack, yogurt or string cheese 4:00 drin****ill 6:00 6:30 dinner whatever I make for the family only 1/2 -1 cup in volume. I eat OUT A LOT. I eat Taco Bell, McDonald's, Wendy's, KFC, Pizza Hut, Subway, Chili's, TGIFriday's etc. I just order small portions, and if I don't want that I have a lot of leftovers. If it's a nicer place my daughter or son and I just split a meal. Or sometimes I eat off all three plates, hubby, and kids. I eat ANYTHING I want just very small amounts. The only thing I really have to watch is sugar. I am 13lb away from GOAL!!!!! Robin W 218/128/115

That is great. My eating is kind of like yours. I get really nausiated if I eat sugar foods. Anything under 6 I can handle. I have gone up to 13. I try to stay away from the bread. But I again am like you. I eat what is available. I do notice your are planning your drinks around meals. That I have a difficult time doing. Usually the ony time I want a drink is when I am bored and would usually eat or am eating and dying of thirst. Thanks for your reply. Congrats on your weight loss. I would give anything to be at 115.

Hi; I'm up and in the gym by 6:30 or walking the dog for a couple of miles 8:00 breaskfast usually yougart and cottage cheese and a banana; or string cheese; once in a while a 1/2 a bagel with cream cheese. I carry a water bottle with me all the time. I try to force myself to drink. Lunch is usually deli meat; (turkey, ham; chicken) or a small salad with chicken and a slice of cheese afternoon; a protein drink of sometype. Maybe some crackers and peanut butter or a protein bar (sometimes both). dinner what ever the family is eating only very tiny amouts. (about a half cup or cup). Two nights ago they had cheese raviloli. I had 4 and was full. if we have a cassorole I take a small portion; and focus on the meat that is in it. late night snack. If I'm craving one; a graham cracker or some string cheese. I don't think we should focus on what we can't eat. We need to focus on the healthy choices we can eat. We should strive to share those choices with our families. Yes, my kids sometimes think my taste buds are dead but.. a half a cantaloupe with 1/4 cup pineapple juice and a scoop of vanilla protein makes a nice pick-me-up. other things I snack on nuts, cheese, ginger snap cookies, no-bake-oatmeal cookies.. yeah; me a poster child, no way. I shouldn't snack. I shouldn't have late night snacks, I need to drink more water. Old habits die hard. hang in there. we are all in this together. mark g.

I was bad about evening snacks. Funny thing I make the oatmeal no bake with splenda. They are yummy are they not. One cookie that is about 1 tablespoon will fill ya. Bad part I could make that my main course. Thanks for your post. I at least have a view of better snack ideas. I need to contact my surgeon. I have no nutritionist. I see her just prior to my apt. and I do not go bac****il November. I last seen her in May.

Regina, Hi, I like the name its my middle name. I'm down 90 lbs. YEA, I feel like I'm losing slow compared to some of you all, but thankgoodness its coming off. I can totally relate to you. I'm struggleing with that also, I'm having a hard time planning meals. My husband, son and daughter are the total snack crew, they are alright with cereal or anything for supper , anything but healthy eating that is. Well most of the time, my son is the only one who likes the more healthy stuff like me and I'm trying to keep veggies and dip around and teach them to eat a variety of stuff. I don't want my daughter especially to have a weight problem like me. She has been eating the sugar free stuff with me and can't tell the difference. I'm having to work on my vitamins, I forget to take them, I need help there. Mornings are coffee and then I eat something around 9:30 a.m. I work and just can't stomach anything any eariler. I've been hooked on peanut butter and whole grain melba toast. Lunch is usually the tuna salad mix that you can get, the small can of tuna in water with the light mayo and I put it on the melba toast and then I love to have a sugar free peppermint pattie my latest find for dessert. Snack usually about 3:30 or 4pm sometimes popcorn or an apple with cheese Supper is my hardest part, sometimes chicken, beef with green beans. Sometimes just pb and melba toast. I work hard to get in my veggies and protein but somedays its hard to. I do love McDonalds and Subways salads and wraps, I do that some. But I have to watch if I get to much of that it bothers my stomach with gas!!!!!! I do take the colace. I'm totally hooked to the Crystal Light Strawberry/Tangerine, I can't stomach plain water its funny it makes me nausaus...... My main goal is working on my fitness.... I walk and had been doing Curves, but I need to advance to something more, with toning. I started at 269 and am current 179, and I need major toning on thighs, arms and stomach, but I know the baby stomach will always be there. Wow, I know you are busy on the farm. Do you all go to any support group meetings???? That will help a lot, he can see that we are all the same in a lot of ways and different in some. Hugs to you, Mitzi

One stick of butter or margerine. One cup ff skim milk 2 cups splenda or (sugar) 1 teaspoon vanilla (you can add this if you want) 6 tablespoons cocoa Bring those ingrediants to a rolling boil. Remove from stove and add one cup peanut butter 3 cups of rolled oats make into teaspoon cookies and let set on parchment paper to dry. I freeze them. I make them with and without cocoa. One as a snack is not that bad.

Hi. I just wanted to respond to your comment about your husband needing a support group with other spouses going thru the process with a bariatric patient. I feel the same way. My husband is the same way. He is monitoring me like a hawk, in fact I lovingly (or not so lovingly) call him the "food police". It is very aggravating, even though I know he does it because he wants me to succeed and accomplish my weightloss goals. The thing that he doesn't get is that it is just undermining my feeling towards him and it makes me very angry. We have had numerous fights about this issue and every time, I just get so upset and hurt/frustrated. I think that we both need to just step back and realize that we are both going thru changes and that at the end, we both want the same thing. I can sympathesize with you and just know that there are others out there having the same issues with our spouse. Take care!

My daughter is nicknamed food police. I try so hard. Do you feel when you get frusterated at your hubby you just want to snack and it makes you even more angry? I wish we had this remote we could just shut it off. Do you think they would mind if we drug them to our meeting? It just amazes me how when we are at home he acts different. Then when we are approached by someone with questions or who knows I had surgery he is all answers. He tells them oh what a good job and blah blah blha. You would have thought he had it and not me. Sometimes those pleasent words would sound better if they were just in our company. Good Luck!!
