Hi all November 2003 people. Since we are all around the 7-month mark I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. Here are a few questions we could answer to help each other out: 1.How close are you to goal? 2.How many sizes have you dropped? 3.Are you exercising (be honest )? If so what is working for you? 4.What are you eating? 5.Do you have anything special planned for when you reach goal? Here are my answers: 1. I have not weighed in a few weeks but when I last did I need to lose 47 more lbs. to reach my goal weight of 150. 2. I have gone from a size 24 to a 12. That's 12 sizes so far!!! 3. I wish I could say I was exercising consistently but I am not. I have been getting in a brisk 1-mile walk about 3 times a week but that's about it. 4. A typical day starts out with a non-fat latte for breakfast, lunch is about 3 oz's of chicken with string beans from a Thai food restaurant down the block and dinner is about 3 oz's of chicken or seafood. I will sometimes have a snack which is another latte, 1 oz of cheese with jalapeno mustard or 2 oz's of corn chips with Pace salsa (the only bad carbs I allow myself). 5. When I reach goal I am going to but myself a Coach purse and a killer black dress with the sexiest stiletto heals I can find!!!!!! Melissa

Melissa, I feel like I am doing terrible. I have lost 124 lbs. I went from a size 26/28 to a size 14. I usually walk 3 times a week, lift my 10lb barbells while were watching the tube(which is not often). I spend most of my time out running around (we have a farm). I usually eat 4 to 5 slices of micro bacon for breakfast every day. I tried 2 ounces of cereal but did not hold me over. Sometimes I have 1 oz of cheese and 3 slices of bacon. I drink water then for lunch I usually have the bacon again or like today I had 2 ounces of turkey breast and 1 ounce of potatoe salad. For dinner it is usually whatever the family eats. I drink around 4 8oz glasses of milk a day. I have a nasty habit of eating in my sleep. I was not doing it for the longest time but now, I fight it. I fear because I am really not awake when I eat and I consume. Then I get nausiated and off to bed. I have not done this for over a week. I feel like I can eat allot. I have gone back to measuring my food. I tried to just put it on a small plate but I never got full, I just stopped. I do not know if I was overeating or not eating enough. I usually drink water/tea. My goal was already made. Buy a pair of Levi's. I never could fit. I have a goal weight of 135. I want to go on a family vacation and participate and not just lay around while they have the fun. I have my self esteem back. You are doing well. Keep up the good work.

124 lbs is a huge acomplishment. Feel proud of yourself for coming this far. Perhaps you should seak a Dr's advice in relation to the sleep eating. There may be something they can do or recomend to help. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Hello all, I had surgery on the 20th of November, I can't say that I am doing everything perfect but hey I am human and when I fall off the wagon I just get back up and try again. But to answer your questions on how I am doing thus far, here goes as follows: 1. I am 27 pounds from my goal which is 150 pounds, never got a goal from my doctor. 2. I went from a 26 to a size 12/14 my belly is the only issue or I would fit in a 10/12. 3. I used to go to the gym everyday faithfully, but now I just walk everywhere and I mean everywhere, drives my husband nuts but hey it works for me. I just go to the gym when I want a change. 4. Eating: I really eat whatever I want, just very very very small portions. I rarely ever dump. But I look at it like this if there is something that I want I might as well eat a little of it to satisfy that urge or else I will eat the whole damn thing and more later. So far its worked for me and I don't get out of control. I can't eat alot of anything, so a bite or two off my husbands plate or daughters plate does me just fine. 5. GOAL: I am renewing my vows in September in the Bahamas with family and friends (never had a real real wedding). My mother bought my dream wedding gown that I thought I would never be able to wear. It was ordered way to small, so I have no choice but to make my goal by then. I can hardly wait for it to come back late July to the bridal gallery. So I guess thats about it for me, everyone seems to be doing great, lets just keep up the GOOD work! -Shariyun 288/177/150

I am so happy for you. My wedding was one of the happiest days of my life. Don't worry about the gown you will make it if you set your mind to it!!!!

Hi 1.How close are you to goal? Only about half way there, down 70 pounds want to lose at least another 75 to 80. 2.How many sizes have you dropped? Went from a loose 30/32 to 18/20 depending on the brand of clothes. 3.Are you exercising (be honest )? If so what is working for you? I joined a Ladies Work out center, kind of like Curves and have been trying to go at least 3 times a week. I really enjoy it and look forward to going, something I never thought I would hear myself say. 4.What are you eating? Protein, Protein, Protein, and low carb. I eat at least three small meals and two snacks a day and still don't get enought protein in sometimes. 5.Do you have anything special planned for when you reach goal? I want to go horse back riding and maybe take lessons, and also get married to my fiance in a beautiful wedding dress. I had to post pone my wedding several times and the dress I bought is a size 26/28 so it won't fit now. I have no idea what I am going to do with it now. I have all kinds of plans and dreams and just hope I can do them one at a time along my journey. Darlene RYN 11/10/04 309/239/???

Congrats on all you have acomplished. Take your wedding dress to a good seamstress and see what they can do or look for a wedding consignement store in your area. They will sell your dress for you and you may be able to find one in your new size. I purchased my dress from a wedding outlet for $600 and was able to sell it on consignement for $475 (it had no alterations because I fit the manufactures measurments perfectly). I hated to give it up but I needed the money at the time.

I had a DS on 11/03/03 I am 59 pounds from my goal. Pre-op weight was 317, I now weigh 209 and want to get to 150. That is -108 pounds. I have lost 10 dress sizes, 4 panty sizes, and 2 shoe sizes! I exercise very consistently--3 Curves sessions plus two extra exercise sessions on my home treadmill. Almost always 5 times a week but occasionally I miss a day. Breakfast is 2 soft-boiled eggs w 1 slice toast, 2 eggs scrambled with cheese, or 8oz yogurt during the week, on Sat and Sun I have 3 thick slices of bacon and one scrambled egg. Lunch is tuna salad and tomatoes, chicken wings and celery, a low-carb burger, ham and cheese roll-ups with carrots and celery sticks, or somethin similar. Protein and raw veggies, essentially. Dinner is 4-6 oz of meat, fish or fowl with a vegetable or salad. I allow myself an evening snack of cheese sticks, mixed nuts, or pork rinds. My something special for meeting goal will be a tummy tuck and breast lift. Carolyn
