Today is my six month anniversary. I am down 85 pounds and I think I am stuck, so I went on fitday.com and started logging everything I am putting in my mouth. I am eating almost 900 calories a day!!!! I guess I have let myself slip a little and will have to go back to basics How many calories are each of you getting in at the six month point? That is the greatest thing about having a DS instead of an RNY. I am eating 1800 calories a day and still losing weight. Carolyn Moore DS 11/03/03 317/217

Dawn: Both procedures are extremely effective. You may have hit a slow losing point, but there is NOONE that will not hit a plateau. 900 calories is average - I'm at about that. Your body is wanting to level off - so keep fooling it. Up your cardio workout or lift weights or do something really different. Drink more water and up your protien. These are the things that will break you through the plateau. Don't get discouraged thinking that your procedure will fail you. If you look through the posts of the thousands of people on this site who have had any of the surgical weight loss procedures, plateaus and periods of slowed weight loss are concerning EVERY one of them. It works and it works well. Hope this helps. Sheri Byrne Poughkeepsie, NY

I agree with Sheri. Just keep doing what you're doing. You are doing really well. I keep feeling like I'm stuck, but I look back and I've lost 5 lbs in the past 2 weeks. I got spoiled to losing a pound a day early on. I never count calories. I don't want to be bound to that nasty curse. I just eat normal meals, small meals, but I try to keep it as normal as possible. Protein first, drink your water, and exercise. Just hang in there Dawn, be at your goal before you know it. Cecil 338/207

Thank you all so much for your input. I guess that I was used to eating so little, that 900 calories seems like alot. ((((HUGS)))) Dawn
