What to eat? :help:
Hi everyone.
This is my first time posting to this board and I wanted to see what others that had their surgery around the same time I did are eating.
I have lost a total of 104 lbs. (29 b4 surgery and 75 since). I have spent the last 3 weeks stuck and am getting a little frustrated. I know one of my problems is water and exercise. I just don't do enough of either. I have gone from a size 24 to a lose 14 and I want to make it to 150 which should put me at about a size 8 (just a guess since I have never been smaller than a 14/16).
I eat 1/2 a protein bar for breakfast, 1/2 a small cup of low fat chicken chili for lunch and seafood or chicken for dinner with a little cooked veggie. Occasionally I may have some carb solution ice cream at night but only about 2-3 tablespoons 1-2x's a week (any more than that and I start to feel yucky). I do have an addiction to starbucks and have a non-fat triple latte with sugar free vanilla every weekday morning.
Does this sound about right? Should I be doing something different? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Melissa

Surgery on 11/25/03
Hey check out the cooking message board. There are a lot of great recipes there. All of the ones I have tried were wonderful.
I eat a lot of refried beans with cheese.
I love to make
Mexican Fudge
9 inch pie plate round or square (glass is best)
3-4 Tablespoons of salsa
4 eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
2-3 cups grated cheese... Co Jack is the best
Use enough to cover the bottom of the pan, this will
be your crust... and I like a thick crust so I use more.
Spray pan with pam. Cover bottom of pan with cheese.
Mix eggs, cream and salsa and pour over cheese.
Bake @ 350 for about 30 mins..
I serve it with sour cream and salsa.
You can add all kinds of things to this. Sauteed onions and ham, olives, tomatoes.....
Hey I see you had surgery the same day I did.. Yipee
I have lost 96 pounds...

Other than the latte, you sound just like me.
Me...I like the veggy chili YUMMY.
My sweet little snack is pudding, SF of course...somes time I toss some Fat Free Sugar Free whipped cream on it...YUMMY.
That whipped cream is my addiction...heck freeze it and scoop it out like ice cream!
My goal weight is 150 as well. I'm at 209 now (stuck here for the last month) with a loss of 85 lbs I'm in a loose 16 myself...hoping to see a size 8 too once I get to goal!
I had my surgery on 11/14. I have lost 76 pounds. I started out at 325. You eat a lot less than I do. I eat a whole protein bar for breakfast or a scrambled egg. For lunch I sometimes eat a regular crunchy taco from Taco Bell. For dinner, just about anything, just in a small portion. I really don't restrict myself except on the sugar intake. I don't eat anything fried. I only lost 9 pounds over the last month. I don't walk and exercise as much as I was. I blame my slow weight loss on lack of exercise but I am still very happy with myself and my weight loss. Hang in there....

Thank you for the support.
I seem to have finally broken my plateau and lost another few lbs over the past few days' taking me down to 204 for a total loss of 110 lbs. I can tell you I did not do a darn thing different (even though I should have). I to am horrible about exercise and sometimes I don't always make the best food choices. The menu I listed is a typical day and I to avoid sugar and fat but sometimes I do lose my mind and eat a no no. I have on more than one occasion gotten up close and personal with the toilet basin due to one of these moments.
I have noticed that we all lose at a different pace and others are quick and up front while some are even and over time. I think I may be one of the quick and up front. I will tell you the big downside is my hair loss. I can no longer wear my hair in a ponytail and have to be careful of how I part and style because I have bald patches. I never had very thick hair in the first place but it has gotten a little ridicules.
You also make sure to hang in there and let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
