5 months post op!
Well 5 months ago today I had OPEN RNY. I started at 268, and I am down to 190. I would have liked to have been down 90 lbs by now, but instead I am down 78 lbs, which I will take! I tried on a pair of shorts that I wore before the surgery and I almost started to cry, but then started laughing. I just could not belive that I squeezed into those shorts just 5 months ago. I have found that in my losing, I had lost 30 lbs the first month, and then nothing or close to nothing, for another month. Then dropped 20 lbs , then for like 7 weeks, nothing or very little weight and then I have droped 15, and now I am holding again. I am still losing inches, so I know it's my bodies way of catching up. I have lost 8 inches in my chest, 8.25 inches in my waist and 9 inches in my hips since I had my surgery. My upper half of my body is not looking too bad (with the exception of my fat, and disgusting arms) , but my lower half really needs to catch up.
As far as negatives, I know I am starting to eat more. I mean I almost have to, or I am starving. It makes me nervous...but I try to be cautious. I do have bad days, where I make very bad choices, but on a whole, I am doing pretty good. I am so thankful to God that I had this surgery, I still pray I don't fail, but I am loving life again! My relationship with my husband is 50 times better then before my surgery and it was great even back then!
Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone for their support, and congratulate all of you on your success. We have ALL done wonderful, no matter where we are in the weight loss!
Keep up the great work everyone!

I am also in the same place as you ladies are. I started on 11/3 at 268 and now weigh 189. I think we are doing great! Keep up the good work.
Hi!
I'm having the same experiences! I started at 252 and I'm now at about 190 -- I think I've lost less than 10 lbs. since mid-February & it's making me crazy!!!!!!! I know I've found I've been able to eat more than I thought I could & I need to be more resolute, but you get so anxious! I'd love to be down to about 175 by now, but I guess I'm still in the ballpark.
Continued good luck to all!
Eileen...
My surgery was on Nov. 7th...AND I started out at 268 just like you did!!
I am now down to 208...so, you are a bit ahead of me in that area. I just got off of a 6 week plateau that was just about impossible to break! In the past 10-11 days i've lost another 11#. I'm hoping the next plateau won't come along for awhile again...boy, I thought it would never end. I'm now down from a size 24-26 to a 16-18 and loving it even though my pocketbook is killing me from having to buy new clothes!! I'm sticking to the basics clothes-wise and am lucky that I work in an office that we don't have to dress up.
Best wishes for your continuing success with your weight loss!!
Take care...
Linda
