Has everyone started losing their hair?
Surgery was on 11/19/03 and I keep waiting for my hair to start falling out. So far it hasn't but the waiting is almost as bad as the actuality. My sister and friend both started to lose theirs around three months. Has everybody else in November started losing or are they still waiting like me?
Thanks,
Mary

I have started losing my hair. I read on one of the other boards about a vitamin called Biotin. I found it at Walmart 240 tablets for $4.92, GNC 100 tablets for 2.99. My hair was comeing out really bad, since I have been taking the Biotin it has stoped falling out.Congrats on your weight lost so far.

My hair started coming out at 2 months out. It is getting really thin so I hope it stops soon!
Mine too!!! I started at 2 months and it is worse. Big clumps I actually have a section of my hair that you can really tell. I spoke to my doctor and they said no matter how much protein I eat I will have it. The body has a reaction to our surgery (starvation mode) when we adjust in time, so will our hair. It will get worse before it gets better. They did say biotin would aid in the new hair growth but not to expect that until 6 months out or so. They told me I would not go bald but I don't know.
Hi,
i started losing my hair about 6 weeks ago and the other day i got it cut and highlighted and the difference is wonderful!! i went to shoulder length from about top of butt and i had layers put in which made it look thick again and then when i comb it out in the morning i don't lose a wig worth everyday it is almost normal hair loss (not quite but a big difference!!)
and i also started using the pantene new full and thick. it smells good and my hair feels good too.
hopefully we don't have too much longer to go through this. i would hate for the first time i get in a bathing suit in 20 years to be also bald!!!!!!! hahahahahahahahahaha
sexy!!!

It seems like my hair has been coming out since day two after surgery. I have really thick hair so I didn't think much about it until recently getting a bald spot right in front ...ugggg. But I am going to try this biotin, and see how it works. Other than that everything is going well.

My surgery was 11/7. I've been losing mine for the past month. Mine is coming out in strands not clumps. Luckily I have thick hair so it's not noticable. I started taking biotin as soon as I was allowed to swallow pills. I use nioxin products. My nutritionist says if it's gonna happen...nothing will stop or prevent it.
Oh well,
Charity
