Lisa. Please go stand at your scales, bend down, pick them up and put them in storage. Double up on the water. Eat more protein, like turkey jerkey, and you should start losing. I mean it about that scale thing. They constantly reminded me I am not in control but a failure "again". You can email me if you would like someone to vent with. Good Luck Deborah D. Surgery 11/24/03 269 Today 217 we are about the same weight.

HI; you are a loser; just don't worry about the scales. My wife hid ours'. I was checking daily; and getting depressed when they didn't move. Now she let's me weigh myself once a week. Also; I have found when the scales don't move; the inches come off. Our bodies are readjusting to the way of eating. I find if I follow the diet; lots of water; protein; protein; protein; and don't snack; well, if I do snack it's nuts; or something with protein; the weight seems to come off. We have to remember this surgery is just a tool to help. It really is up to us to develop the good eating habits; and exercise necessary to keep our bodies healthy. Never give up. mark g.

Lisa, I had my 3-month checkup today and my doctor was not too happy about my slow loss (Lap RNY 12/1/03, 248/209 or -39# since surgery). His instructions for eating are very simple and very strict. Eat only meat and green veggies 3X a day (measured in the medicine cup!) for 6 months or until goal. Those are really tall orders for me and maybe if I could be disciplined enough to eat only that, then maybe I would have lost more. I will say in my own defense that even though I have strayed (even protein drinks are not allowed), it has not been by much and I always choose protein and low carb, no junk food, but cheating is cheating, whether it is a lot of cheating or a little. However, we are human, we obviously have eating issues, and we are going to drop the ball sometimes. Start each day anew and promise yourself to do better. Tell yourself you are not a failure and that you will succeed this time. I think a one day at a time approach will be less overwhelming than trying to see the whole picture. PS--I'm taking my own advice here also! Lisa G

I also stopped losing in late January. I have lost 62 lbs.. Amazing isnt it.. But nothing since then.. It is soo hard. I also weigh myself everyday. I hate feeling like a failure.. But I have some success. I started at only 232 now I am 170 in size 14 some 12's and large and medium shirts.. I love how I look.. If I stay at this weight forever I would be comfortable. I workout five days a week and I will be leaner in the next six months even if I dont drop another lbs.. Good Luck and keep up the rules you will lose more... Tricia

We have the same surgery date. As of last week I have lost 102 pounds but I also started at 345! I found that as long as I get my exercise, protein and water in the pounds come off. I walk 2-3 miles four days a week and take water aerobics three hours a week. The scales have stopped a couple of times but the fat still manages to come off. Best of luck in your journey.
