11/20/03 - 3 MONTHS POST OP - 02/20/04
Hello All:
Well I am 3 months post op as of today and down 68 pounds. Curious how everyone else was doing that had surgery around my time or anytime for that matter. Whats everyone eating? Whats everyones cravings? Any complications? Exercise? Medicines? Water? Protein? And whatever else you have to share and/or offer.
Weight: 287 to 219
Eating: Everything (just tiny portions) but grilled chicken from McDonalds.
Cravings: Ice Cream, it's going to be death of me!
Complications: None other than can't go #2 & my butt/hips hurts.
Exercise: 2 miles in 30 min. daily on the treadmill; Body Blast once weekly.
Medicines: Can't seem to take them, but lab work came back GREAT!
Water: A gallon a day keeps my doctor away.
Protein: I get all I need from food, no more shakes...yippee!

Wow you're doing great!
I'm down 84.5 pounds
I'm having a liitle difficulty eating food but ususally some kind of deli meat and cheese
no cravings but let me tell you Blue Bunny has great icecream bars. I had a few bites of one of those I bar is 0fat, 13 carbs,4 sugars and 4gms protein. They are pretty big, so all I can handle is a few bites, they are awesome. ;). They have fudge, fudge and vanilla, rasberry and cream and orange and cream.
complication: 2 strictures, ulcer and gastritis (4 EGDs)
exercise: 2-5 miles a day, weight lifting program for toning, stretches
Meds: Prilosec, Carafate, multi vitamin and calcium vitamin
Water: working on it, up to about 70 oz a day.
Protein: definately not getting enough of that from food. Doing a few shakes still.
Keep up the great work.

Hi, I am also 3 months post op. I have lost 83 punds so far. I don't eat much, usually cottage cheese, tuna or yogurt - I have found these to be good for me. I tried a few other things but seemd to have trouble keeping it down, so I went back to the safe foods.
I also like and crave ice cream. The Blue Bunny brand is great, only a few bites and I am satisfied. Yeah!!!!
I am not having any complications, except my hips hurt only when I sleep on my sides. Not sure whats up with that.
Keep up the good work.

hello, i will be 3 months post op on the 25th. i have lost around 50lbs but well over 30 inches. i feel great except for a pain in my upper left abdomen when i turn or bend over to fast. i am having a test on thursday to see what going on. other than that its been a great experience and its really fun to hear from everone else. i dont have trouble with to many foods and no major cravings yet but i guess i will have to check out the blue bunny!!! keep up the great work!!!!!!!!
Well I am 3 months out today! I will definately say, this has been a heck of a journey so far.
I started @ 258 and am down to 203...
Eating : Uggg... it seems to be a chore anymore, I have a hard time finding things that are good for me or that I like anymore.
Cravings : Normally if I want something, I will attempt it... but all in moderation!!
Complications: I seem to have a very weak immune system... I have been more sick in the last 3 months than in the last 3 years, In fact just last night I was throwing up till 4 am..... what a joy... and I tend to be pretty low on energy still....
Exercise: I do not have a set plan but I am constantly on the run... I know, I know...that doesn't count.
Medicine: I take Roxicet as needed and fight to get my vitamins in
Water: I just try to drink as much as I can, but have not measured my intake..I'm sure I could use more tho.
Protein: No more shakes - trying to get it from my food
Other than that, I still look forward to the day when I can say I'm back at my best... I had about 2 1/2 weeks of feeling good, only to start feeling bad again.... Oh yeh, and I am noticing more hair in the drain now too!
Well good luck to all and congrats to our 3 mo anniversaries!!
