Since we're all at about the same point in our journeys I thought I would ask if anyone has experienced hair loss yet. I have not really seen anything major, but I'm told that it doesn't happen until 3-4 months AFTER you experience the deficiency in your diet. I'm hoping these little strands here and there are all I'm going to lose. Anyone?? thanks Sheri Byrne Poughkeepsie, NY

I dont know the answer either but I noticed more hair in the comb when I missed my vitamins for about one week.. Then I got them started again and guess what less hair.. UHMMMM maybe something to the vitamin thing.. also heard that biotin is what helps out hair.. and it is not in the childrens vitamins.. So I buy the Kroger brand adult chewables...

Hi Sheri! I had my surgery on 11/11/03. I have just recently started to notice a little more hair loss than normal. I have real thick, natural curly long hair. So hair loss is an everyday thing anyway. I think as long as we keep up our nutrition recommedations, we may be able to curb this. However, my surgeon and dieticians did tell me that some hair loss could be related to the after affects of surgery, not just nutrition. Your right! I am also hoping that the little bit more that I notice now is the worst of it!

I have been having hair loss for a while now. I spoke with De Cole about it and he said it will stop. When I wash my hair my hands are netted with hair. My wonderful Dr said not to worrie. I guess we have to look at it as a price to pay. Also look at it as it will be lost but it will come back. Unlike our weight.

Hi, i had my surgery on 11/14 and am going through my hair loss right now. i lose a ton of it everyday and luckily i have long thick naturally curly hair or i'd probably be bald by now!! they say it lasts up to 2 months or so, so i should only have about 3 or 4 weeks left. then it should start growing back. my hairdresser ordered me some special shampoo and conditioner that should be in on monday to help with hair loss of our type. i will put up a message with the name of the stuff as soon as i get it. good thing is, it grows back!! We might get a little thin on the head for awhile but just think we get thin everywhere else too and that won't grow back!! Stacy

Yes!! I am lsoing hair and I noticed it in big amounts on my three month anniversary. Now it just seems to be getting worse and worse. I am pretty upset about it, but I would trade temporary hair loss for the weight loss, so it is a fair trade I'd say! But I am still pretty depressed about it. waaah! There is hair all over the place in my house. I'm thinking about getting it cut shorter so the wad of hair in my hand will be a wad of smaller hairs...thus making me feel like I'm losing less hair...does that make sense? I have worked so hard and gone thru so many weird hair periods just to get my hair this lenghth, and now I think i'll cut it off. Not sure yet. Going to take it day by day and talk to some hairdressers about it. And see what their ideas are. My usual girl moved out of state, so I've just been getting trims at a $10 hair place. I miss her! I know she could do some amazing things with hair, even THIN hair! Wahh wahh wahhhhh!!!! Take care, Kristen

Thanks for all the input, the afro guy is really funny!!! I guess I have some hair loss to look forward to. I am in agreement with the person who said it's a small price to pay for the great weight loss we're having! Thanks everyone!!!
