Has anyone else had this happen? My pouch growls as if I am hungry when I am not even the slightest bit hungry, and then it makes other noises like I'm passing gas or something and it is so loud my DH hears it and makes jokes while we are in bed he says things like quite down in there I can't hear the tv, now it is funny when we are home but it can become embarrassing out in public because people actually think you are passing gas when you are not. Does anyone know why this happens? By the way I changed my name, some of you know me as Dorinda . RNY 11/4/03 -40lbs Am I losing too slowly? I think the first month out I lost like 29 lbs but then the next I only lost 8 lbs for the whole entire month I am kinda worried. D.A

Hi Dorinda, I also experience lots of noise in the tummy area but I think it's just your new works digesting food and moving threw your intestines. Also I think certain foods like milk makes more noise than others. I have only lost 47 pounds and it will be three months on tuesday the 10th. My surgeon says if you loose close to 10 pounds a month your right on track and as long as your loosing I wouldn't be too worried about it. Everyone looses differently some slower than others, I was worried about that too in the beginning. Also your body needs to catch up to the large amounts of weight it lost at one time and then it continues to loose again, so I have been told. Keep up the good work and good luck. Darlene

Hello surgery date buddy! i had my open rny micropouch surgery on the 4th of november. i am losing at an average rate of about 1/2 pound a day. I did go through a 3 week period where i didnt lose a damn thing, but now i seem to be back on the losing track. i started at 262 and after weighing myself today I am now at 214, that would make it about 48lbs total since surgery date. I know it frustrates me too that, more often than not, people seem to be losing faster than me. I have come to terms that I am just a slow loser and that if i didnt lose another single pound, that I am 48lbs lighter than i was 3 months ago. I wish the best for ya and wanted to let you know that you are such a GREAT LOSER!!

I know what u r saying!! I think I have a bear in my puch some times. I think it really depends on what food you eat. I had my open rny 11/6 . I am down 73 lbs. I just went off a 2-3 week platue with no weight loss and now its starting to fall off again. You are doing great! Good luck and God Bless! Deborah

Hi Ya, I'm not really having too much of the tummy noises, but find I'm constipated an awful lot. Maybe your plumbing is just working better than mine. I do get VERY hungry at least once a day, and my tummy growls. Don't know if it's the old one, or the new pouch. Thankfully, it fills up very quickly. I seem to be losing more slowly. My surgery day weight was 243.5, and on Monday the 9th, I weighed in at 202. Thats 41.5 pounds for me in 3 whole months. It sounds really good, but compared to others and to my own expectations, it's less than desired. My biggest worry is that I'm not going to keep losing. Let's not get discouraged...hang in there.
