Hi everyone, Wow, it's nice to see how everyone is doing who had surgery around the same time. I was always wondering where I fit in...was I being slow in losing, or just right. I have learned by reading all of you wonderful people who post, that I fit right in, and don't have to worry. I had my surgery the 18th of November, with a loss of 62 pounds thus far. I have trouble at times getting in all of my protein and water, but all in all I think I am doing pretty good. And you're right, everyone else notices that you've lost weight, but when I look in the mirror, I still see myself the way I 'always' am, and get disgusted, and wonder when will I like what I see? Then I remember that I have to love what I see first, then I will like it...if that makes any sense. My hair is ok for now, although I do notice a few more hairs in the comb, this is one time in my life I appreciate the thickness, and curliness. Why do we never like what we have? I try to walk 1 to 2 miles per day, and I have noticed that I don't get winded, or tired as easily as I once did. Do you notice that as well? I also get colder easier...I live in Florida, and still taking a sweater with me everywhere I go. Well, I'll quit blabbing, just wanted to say "hey" to you November Babies. And see how everyone else is doing. Glad to see we are all on the same journey, just in an individual way. Cindy

You are doing great!! My surgery was november 26th and I have lost 44 pounds. I have started drink the whey fruity protein drinks and have no problem getting in my protein. I also am able to get in my 70oz a day of fluid thanks to crystal light peach tea. I mix it with double the water so that it only has a trace amount of caffine(it's 98% caffine free to begin with) and it also cuts down on the sweetness. I also am cold all the tim. I use an electric blanket while I am home. It really helps. I will probably regret saying this, but I haven't started to lose any hair YET. Happy losing to all!!! Dawn

Sounds like you're doing good too, Dawn! I keep hearing about the fruity whey protein drinks..what brand are you drinking, and where can I find it? I am drinking a soy based protein powder mix, and I like it enough, but I am getting tired of the chocolate and vanilla, although sometimes I spruce up my shakes a bit, with banana, or flavored syrups. That's a great idea with the water and crystal light, it does tend to be a tad too sweet tasting by itself. Congrats on your loss as well! I'll look forward to keeping in touch with you and all from November. Thanks for responding. Hugs, Cindy

Hey Girls! My surgery was Nov 24. 03 I have lost a total of 47 lb. from surgery day. And a total of 30 inches. I started this journey at 287.the total lost weight counting the diet before surgery is 65 lb.. I am just getting in to a size 20/18 My tops a 2x. However My diabetes gone. My sleep apnea gone. My High Blood Pressure gone. My high cholesterol gone. those nasty skin tags I had all over my neck they have disappeared. The pain in my knees and feet gone. I feel like a million bucks. I am behind in my weigh loss. I do not go for walks. I do a lot of errands all day. I do get about 60 oz of water. and two protein shakes daily. My diet still consists of lean meat and green leafy vegetables. they are getting real boring. I have always been challenged in the kitchen department. Deborah

Hey Girls Glad to know everyone is doing so well. I had my surgery on 11/1103 -as of last week lost 58lbs ( I try not to weigh more than once a week) I would probably be doing better if I got more of my fluids in. Cindy I get my fruity protein drinks from: www.wlssuccess.com They call them Nectar protein drinks and have several flavors you can even order samples. I ordered a sample of all their protein drinks and ended up getting the Chocolate, Banana (Very Good), Apple, Very Berry and Strawberry-kiwi. With all that you'd think I'd have no problem getting my fluids in LOL. Anyway - - Best of Luck to everyone. Angie

Hi, Cib's are Carnation Instant Breakfasts. I had to drink nothing but them for the first 2 weeks after surgery and i hated them. now i can't even think of drinking anything that even resembles them cocoa, milkshake etc. even jello and scrambled eggs i can't eat right now. when that was all i had for options i guess mentally i hated not having any other option and i learned to hate them. hopefully someday i will get over it. but right now no way jose!! anyhoo, sorry to ramble, but god, i hate those things!! hahaha!! didn't you do the cib's after surgery??
