My surgery was 11/24/03 I am down a total to include WL before surgery 46 lb. My problem is this. My DR insisted I eat ONLY lean meat and green leafy vegetables. and take 2 flintstone vitamins daily.. He said I will not be successful If I don't do as he says. He says I need to lose 5 lb a week. I am really board with my few choices of foods. I drink coffee in the morning, plus a 4 oz protein drink mixed w/skim milk. Then for lunch I do another protein drink, about 5 bites of chicken 1/2 oz with 1/2oz of broccoli. Dinner is the same as lunch. Boring." Hunger is waking me up at night because I don't eat meat after 8pm. I awoke this morning at 2:20 hungry. So I went to the kitchen and fixed me a bowl of warm oatmeal. Yummy Yummy that was great" I am 53 and my concern is calcium my hormones/mood swings, my hair, my nails, and my crappie low energy level. I know this regime will not last for me. Please share what you are eating? Thanks for being there Deborah

Hi, i had my surgery on 11/14 and i can basically within reason eat anything i want now. i have lost 74 lbs so far and i lose about 2-4 lbs. aweek. i eat steak, chicken, pork, like 3 oz. and then like 1/2 oz each of rice and veggie. it's not alot of carb and veggie but it makes me feel like a regular human being. i don't know all your restrictions but my doctor is very pleased with my progress and i don't get bored any more like the last phase i was on. i can't do protien shakes, hate them and won't drink them. so you might want to try a little variety and see where that takes you. i don't get hungry and i am happy 98 percent of the time!! good luck!! Deborah, I had my surgery on 11/19/03, I have lost 56 pounds, I too am very interested and concerned about eating. This is what I normally eat in a day and I am still hungry. Breakfast...Atlkins chocolate protein shake (this is by far the best, I recommend you give it a try, avail. in 4 pks at Wal-Mart)...Lunch....4 crackers /w tuna(made w/f-f mayo & relish,3 oz of tuna).....Dinner.....differs.....Gordons baked fish filet...or....ground beef w/cheese.....or....baked ham(no deli meat at all, makes me throw-up)......basically just some type of mean for dinner....snacks are s-f popsicles, which I prob have 2-4 a nite. I hate the fact that I am always hungry and I know I do not get my water in but when I drink water it makes me feel like throwing up, I work out 2-3 times a week which I want to do more. I take 2 flintstones, 2 viactiv(for calcium) & 1 b-12 a day, I would be concerned with your lack of calcium if I were you. But my point is that I need more food choices and I also wonder if I am really hungry or if I just miss eating cause God knows I love to eat! I also sometime snack on an Atkins protein bar, these are the best tasting I have found also, thing is Atkins is expensive but I will pay more for better taste, I actually look forward to the shakes, and I tried ALOT of shakes. I am so tired all of the time and I know we are not supposed to drink caffeine or pop but I think I am going to start to have a dt.mt dew in the morning, I use to drink these before surgery because I dont like coffee, I hope it works. I also have crazy mood swings. Let me know if you have any suggestions on food or anything, I just bought some broccoli and I'm going to start eating that, hopefully it will help to fill me up. Best of luck to you. Heather B 301/246/175?
