I'm really worried - my appetite is going wild

Hi all, well today is my second month post-op. I've lost 31 or so pounds, which I don't think is very much, but I thank God for it. I can none eat anything I want. I haven't eaten any sweets at all, but I am into the other carbs. I just can't get myself together about what to eat. I need structure. I've been looking on the internet for "diets" - I'm thinking about doing Bob Greene's "Get with the Program" on the internet (he's Oprah's trainer). I have a membership with the Y, I've seen a trainer and she set up excerise for me to do, but I just can't get myself to go. I'll see my doctor on the 27th and talk to him about my feelings. I don't know of any support groups, other than OA. Anyone else like me.

I'm going to see someone who will help me with how I'm eating. PS how do you make the little icons. I tried but it didn't appear in when I previewed my message. Help please. That's alright, it did work this time when I previewed.

Honey, relax! My apitite started to increase. I was told to drink more water and to eat mainly protein. The carbs wont give you the longlasting fulness that we sometime need. Also, are you drinking water or other fluids during your meal? Don't drink half hour before and a half hour after you eat. Good luck and email me anytime you have a question. By the way I am almost 3 months post op.

I understand. I have days where I'm starving; then there are days where I can't eat a thing. My doc says.... water; make sure you drink your 64 ounces of water each day. Protien; most of the meal needs to be protein. (think someone else also said) protein makes you feel fuller; and carbs make you hungry sooner. I found some good receipes on bariatriceating.com I also have started my day with a protien drink from GNC; their ISOpure is good. Also I got a bunch of sample protein drinks from bariatriceating.com; the banana creme is wonderful. I joined the gym at work; and got a trainer to help me out on what to do. I have to keep reminding myself the surgery is just a way to help you lose weight. What we do to make that tool work is where the results come in. Sometimes I snack; and have found that cashews; or almonds; work great. about 12 nuts and I'm satisfied. My doc provides a manual for the surgery with a list of food that we should eat. Also I got a little sign on my computer that says " it's my body; I'm in control; and I will take care of it." talk to you soon. mark g.
