Hi there! I had surgery on 11/19 and so far have lost 55 pounds. Now that I am at my 6 week point, I do not know what to eat? I have lost my taste for MANY of my old favorites- thank you God! but now I am unsure what constitutes a good meal. Do you have a favorite meal now? Please share!! Thanks! I had surgery on the 13th. I still don't think I am eating enough. But some of the things that set well with me are.. cottage cheese, any kind of cheese, refreid beans, crab, shrimp, deli meats, cooked veggies, tuna, mashed potatoes, malt o meal, chicken (in the can) regular chicken just doesn't set well with me yet) pizza toppings, I know sounds weird but if the family has pizza I eat just the toppings, alot of protein in there. I am not up to a full meal yet so I just have some of those things in a day. Good luck! ~Tiffany

Hi; deli meats; (chicken and turkey) is my main stay. I do fine with Wendy's Chille also. Cottage cheese and some yoguarts (watch out for the sugar in them); refried beans; and like the post above; when the kids want pizza; I eat the toppings.

I had my surgery on the 4th of November. I do not have a problem with eating anthing, except bread products, bread, totilla, biscuit, etc. Tonight I am having home made beef stew. The beef will be nice & tender, so it will go down easily. Some of my favorites are, beef jerky (www.tillamook.com) fresh fruit (clementines) & carnation instant breakfast. Tuna did not sit very well & I seem to be lactose intolerant since surgery, so I have tried chocolate soy milk, delicious! Good luck on your journey! Priscilla

I think I am becoming lactose intolerant. Had a shake this morning and couldn't fini**** Felt sick all day. I'm six weeks out tomorrow and this is the first time I have had a problem with milk. I hope not because I love milk. In the 60's when I was in the Navy at sea for a year we only had warm powdered milk. When we got back to San Diego everyone went to the bars. I went to a store and bought a gallon of ice cold milk. Have tried Egg Beaters and poached egg along with a saltine cracker. Couldn't handle any of them. No problem so far with shrimp, salmon or chicken.

Tonight I am going back to work for the first time since surgery and I have packed (for a 12 hour shift) --- 1/4 low fat cup cottage cheese with 1/4 cup low sugar sliced peaches (canned) plus i added a packet of splenda. ---A 1/2 cup tuna and a leaf of butter lettuce to make little tuna roll ups. ---16 oz of Isopure protien drink, blue raspeberry flavor, ---and 1/4 cup refried beans. Who knows what I'll want tonight, so I packed a variety. Other things we (husband and I both had surgery) are eating are chicken soft tacos from del taco or taco bell without lettuce. I just eat the chicken and cheese and toss the tortilla. John's favorite meal is one scrambled egg made with Pam, 1 oz (97% fat free) ham slice, and a half a slice of low carb bread by sara lee, with butter. That stuffs me! I can't eat it all. It is so delicious and satisfying to eat a REAL meal! Another thing I like is dipping high protein chips (Keto brand tortilla chips in cheese flavor) in LF cream cheese with salsa on top. I have tolerated everythign I have tried so far. The only problem my husband or I have had is eating too fast and not chewing enough. You really only need to make that mistake once and you never want to do it again! : ) Good luck to you! Take care, Kristen

I am 7 weeks out and find I have no problems with the following... -String cheese -Tuna w/ onion and swiss cheese mixed in (yummy) -Chicken (roasted) -Salmon -Shrimp (cold jumbo shrimp cut up and mixed w/ fresh salsa) -Kraft cheese cubes -Refried beans w/ cheese and sour cream -Thin deli meats rolled up (Turkey and ham) heating them w/cheese is yummy, kind of like a ham and cheese melt (except no bread) -Chicken salad on a low fat cracker if I feel the need to crunch! =) -Egg salad -Scrambled eggs -Bacon and cheese omlete -Peperoni chips -Wendy's chili -Taco insides from Taco Bell -Pizza toppings Also, I just bought two dinners from the frozen food section called Chef's Choice. I got the Chicken Toscana and the Garlic Beef and Broccoli. Each only has 10 grams of cards, 17 grams of fat and 45 grams of protein. The serving size is 11 oz so I am just trying to figure out how to cook two ounces at a time so I don't waste it. lol I also like the Gorton's grilled fillets they have 1 gram carbs, 3 grams of fat and 17 grams of protein. Hope this gives you an idea. Good luck to you! =)
