I am almost 4 weeks post op,the last 4 days or so i have noticed something very strange.I have noticed that other peoples breath is very offensive to me,i never really noticed it before unless someone had severe bad breath, but now i really notice it,even my wife and my mom,i am afraid that i hurt my wifes feelings,i had to leave the room last night when my wife came in.I am thinking it is because i am not eating the same things they are.has anyone else had this problem.I know it may sound like a trivial problem but it really is offensive to me.I was doing some christmas shopping the other day and while walking thru the mall i noticed it on about half the people i walked by.HELP ME PLEASE!!

You are SO right! I too have noticed it, not only with breath, but many smells. For example, just walking outside and smelling the air. It was really bad for the first two weeks after surgery, but my dietician told me it could have something to do with the anestetic still wearing off.

It's definately not "just you" who experienced this Michael. I am 2 months and 5 days post op and am just now starting to get over the smell of peoples breath...not to mention loads of other various smells. At one point I actually would turn my head away from the people who were talking to me because I thought their breath was EXTREMELY offensive and it would actually start to make me nauseous. I am finding that I really don't notice this much anymore.
