hello everyone, had lap/rny on 11-26,the last couple of weeks i have been having a very difficult time taking in any type of fluids, especially in the mornings,i try to keep water with me at all times and sip sip sip,but even a small sip tries to come back up.i am afraid i am going to get dehydrated.also having a difficult time eating anything but that doesnt worry me as much.i drink 2 protein drinks a day at 46 grams protein each, takes me forever to get them down.any suggestions greatly appreciated. other than those probs i am doing pretty well,at 8 days post i got my g-tube out and weighed in,lost 13 lbs.havent weighed in since but i think i am down 20 to 30 lbs in a little over 3 weeks. thank you to everyone that sent e-mail support before my surgery,i was very nervous and it helped a lot to know that i was not alone, thank you all so much.

I was having the same problem. The did a EGD (scope) and found that I had a narrowing and then dialated it. I was not feeling well for a few days after I had it done, (most people do just fine right afterwards) but now I can actually sip and keep it down. I just started semi solid foods not too long ago, and I am able to eat ok. If it continues I would call your surgeon. I thought what if it was in my head and nothing is wrong, but I'm glad I did make that call. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck and congrats on that loss. ~Tiffany

A friend of my recently had WLS and was having problems keeping fuilds down. You need to call your doctor. Her potassium was low and she did get dehidrated. Good wl, I'm only down 21 lbs since surgery and it's starting to bum me out. It wouldn't be so bad but I lost none again this week. Darcy
