Well, I am not getting enough protien, so yesterday I moved on to pretty solid foods. I am 16 days post op. I feel fine. Nothing bothers me at all. So, this morning I had egg beaters. No problems at all. I had 1/4 cup serving. For lunch I am going to try some tuna. I chew everything very well, and no stomach pains and I feel full. How about the other 2 weekers here...what are you all eating? Oh, BTW, I got on the scale this morning (said I would wait till Sunday, but couldn't wait anymore). I am down 23 lbs. It's slower than I thought, but I figure if I lose slow, that maybe my skin will keep up with me. We shall see. I am also doing much better on water. Still not quite at 64 oz, but I would guess I am closer to 48. Which is a lot better than at first. Well, I am not trying to make anyone break their surgeons rules, I am just talking about me, and what I have decided for me. Take Care Everyone!! ~~Eileen~~

Hello Eileen! I two am at about 2 weeks, I am 16days out, the same as you! I have been experimentng with different foods also. The other day i tried very small/tiny pieces of chicken, they went ok. Last night I made a deviled egg, that went down great! Although I was only able to eat half of it, the rest was for breakfast today! I tried small ring noodles today also, they went down very well, it was a chicken salad I made for my husbands work, so I tried a few bites. I have also down well with my homemade baked potato soup, yummy! I have not been able to get in as much water as you! I am just not thirsty, so I have a hard time getting it all in. I am down 18 pounds, so you are doing better than me there! But losing slow is not a problem, as long as it keeps coming off! The only thing that has bothered me so far is one day I tried some canned lite fruit & I'm not sure if I ate too fast.not chewed well enough or if my pouch just did not like it, but I felt ill afterwards & had to lay down for about an hour. I have not tried it since then. I have had potatos & gravy a couple of times, yummy! Hope you are doing well! Kepp up the good work! Priscilla

WHEW!!! I am glad I'm not the only one! I am scared ****less that I am gonna ruin my pouch or mess up something, but I could not handle one more day of cream of chicken soup! I have tried string cheese, tuna, refried beans, and imitation crab salad. I have tolerated everything just fine. Actually I feel like I could eat all day long! But I don't. I am having a hell of a time getting in enough water and the protein, well forget IT! I am just making sure to eat high protein foods to help out. I drink a third of the protien shake and that is IT! (approx. 20 grams of protein) The day my hair falls out I will be kicking myself! In the mean time i will just continue to try really hard to get as much protein as possible in, take my vitamins and tums, sip on water, chew chew chew my food, and walk. In order to get in more water, I have turned to flavored water drinks like fruit 2 O and propel. yum! At first I could only tolerate juice. Then my dr urged me to get in more water and less juice. I tried the flavored drinks and I haven't had juice since! (so proud of myself!!) Now if only I could get the whole sipping and NOT chugging thing down!! Take care, Kristen

Hi, guys!! Sorry I didn't see this post until late. I, too, am 19 days out and have been 'experimenting'. I have tried (and with success) the following foods: tunafish (everyday...it's a staple!), egg salad, a cracker with a thin layer of pb, mashed brusell sprouts (be careful of the gas build-up!), small, small pieces of bs chicken, and mashed potatoes (kinda liquidy). I kinda want to try spinach (I love it) but am not too sure about it yet. And can we have a little vinegar, I wonder? Hmmmm... The ONE thing that has none gone over well (and I gave it the benefit of the doubt with TWO tries, mind you) is a scrambled egg. Twice now, it somehow gets lodged in my throat and just sits there all day. Very uncomfortable! I finally had to resort to a couple swigs of sf coke to 'bubble' it's way through it....just like Draino. This also happened to my girlfriend and a couple people in the library, so maybe we just can't have scrambled eggs yet?? Or ever? I dunno. I know this chicky isn't...I'm swore off for good. Hope this finds all you Nov surgery gals happy this Sun morn. I off to make some homemade potato soup (thanx for the idea Priscilla!). The deviled egg sounds good, too. (slippery!) lol (((hugs))) -Karen
