How long does it take to get a date?

I have decided this is what I want. Now where do I go? I have tricare prime insurance. My BMI is 47. I quit smoking. So Now I need some advice. I recieved an e-mail from someone near Athens, Al . I lost it and would like to hear from her again. All and any advice is needed. Diane

Diane, I too have Tricare. I know that Tricare varies from region to region, even though it's Tricare. Now, my original surgery date was canceled due to health issues, but from the time I talked to my doctor and the time to my original surgery date it was like 4 1/2 months. It just took a while for me to have my first appt with my surgeon. It really wan't long. I was denied for the surgery the first time around but appealed...so that was part of the delay. Anyway, not sure if that makes sense or not. I don't think it takes that long. The only other delay would be if your surgeon has a long waiting list. So keep the faith and congratualtions on the stop smoking! You go girl!
