10 DAY POST OP

i AM BACK! I am 10 days out and down 19 lbs. unreal! I wonder if anyone knows what can be put on the insison for itching and scaring? I am told to wait a bit and start adding cocoa butter? HELP! THANKS

I just saw my surgeon today and he says to put some ointment on it. Neosporin type. I said, "oh an antibiotic ointment?" and he said "not neccessarily. You just need to put something on there for the dry skin." I have some skin that is peeling at the incision site. Hope that helps you! Kristen

Yea! Congrats! I know that my hand surgeon had me use vitamin E after my surgery. he said it works great (like that expensive stuff that coest $18. for a little tube). I have to say that I did it and that is the first time that I healed as good as I did and you can hardly see the scar now, and I ususally scar pretty bad. I bought a bottle of 50 capsules at a dollar store, just break them open, it can be a little gooey and rub it on. If you don't want to get it on anything you can put a band aid lightly over it.
