Hello all! Thank you for your support and encouragement. I had my surgery on 11/4 and feel really good. I had it done lap and really have not had much pain at all since I have been home. I definitely miss being able to chug water or Crystal Light. My body will only allow 2 swallows at a time. Also, I have this weird noise and feeling like low down on my left side that sounds alot like a sunken ship moaning and then I get bubbles I can feel come up my side. It just feels kinda weird but I really have not experienced "hunger" yet. Thank God for that. Can't wait to expand my clear liquid diet but have another week to go until soft diet for 4 weeks.

Hi, Joanna! I also had my surgery on the 4th and have experience the same as you...no pain, no nausea, wanting to CHUG ice cold water down!! ( A SF Popsicle helps here). HOWEVER, I have not experienced the sunken shop moaning syndrome. lol You put it so eloquently. You may want to check with your dietician/doctor about what exactly constitutes 'liquid'. You may be surprised. Cottage cheese, jello, mashed potatoes, pureed creamed soups, FF SF pudding (heaven!), etc, are just some other things that some doctors constitute as 'liquid', believe it or not. You can also add your protein powder to the pureed creamed soups (and add left-over creamed soup to the mashed potatoes), etc. I'm also still looking for SF FF Carnation Instant Breakfast...can't seem to find it yet, though! Good luck with your journey!!! (((hugs))) -Karen

I get that noise!! It's not like your stomach is growling, but I am not sure if it's "gas" in the stomach. It doesn't hurt or anything...so I figure it's "gas". Anyway, I haven't tried chugging....but I need to start drining a little faster. I still am no where near getting all my water for the day. I used to be a person who got up to go to the bath room once a night, now I can sleep like 9 hours with out the urge to get up...I am assuming I am dehydrated. Anyway, I am glad you are feeling good. I honestly feel pretty awesome. I do get tired thorugh during the middle of the day and I end up taking a nap, but, all in all, I feel pretty good!

HOw funny, a friend of mine was just telling me that she can HEAR the liquid go down when she drinks! I do notice my 'insides' making alot more noise...probably couldn't hear it before becuse of the sounds of cramming food into my mouth. Oh, how I miss cramming food into my mouth! hmmmm. lol Take care, Kristen

I had surgery on November 13th so I'm 6 days post op. I too have experienced the noises in my stomach. I also felt really bloated and uncomfortable. And it does kind of sound like moaning. I actually started experiencing this before discharge and was advised that it was gas which is common. The nurses advised me to walk that this would help move it out if you will. However, I was also told by my surgeon's office that I could take GasX (which is chewable) bit it is very important to look at the label for sugars. I haven't had to use it though (once I found this out and my husband brought it home for me it has not been as bad).
