Am I the ony one?

Hi I'm pretty new here. I am so glad that I found you all. This is so great to hear from people that are going through the same thing I am. I do have a question though. Does anyone else have to do a 2 week liquid diet prior ro surgery? I just wanted to know how you all got through it. Through the office that I go you have to and then 4 weeks after. I am on day 12. I can't even believe that I have done it. Just 2 more days and then surgery.

Tiffany CONGRATULATIONS for being able to stick to a liquid diet! I don't have to do that pre-surgery, but after will be on liquids for 2 weeks.

I have to say, I'm a Registered Nurse and work with many kinds of patients, including surgical patients... I have never heard of a 2 WEEK clear liquid diet, PRIOR to surgery...that is crazy.... After surgery absolutely, but I was told to do clear liquids the first week, and full liquids (creamy soups,etc) the second week, and advance as slowly as possible, to allow the surgical area to heal, and adjust. Some doctors are different though. I was put on clear liquids the day before surgery...that was enough, but 2 WEEKS, I really do feel for you right now. I am not a doctor, but I would tell you...honey get you something to eat...lol, just kidding. Best wishes with your surgery, I will say a prayer for you. God Bless you, Kathryn
