Wow! I am home & doing well. My surgery went problem free & I want to thank everyone for their kinds thoughts & prayers for my surgery! I came home on Thursday, surgery was Tuesday. I still have some pain on the left lower side of my stomach. i think it is still gas, the doctor was not concerned with it. I am taking some Roixcet for that. It felt great to be home & in my confy robe & slippers. laying in my own bed. Oh & that first shower, that felt wonderful! I surprised myself & I was not a basket case before surgery, I was actually pretty calm! I guess that calmness came from God, I prayed hard for it! I am on the liquid diet until my first post-op appointment on Thursday the 13th. I am fine on the diet, just bored with it. I have not had any head hunger yet, real food just smells good. I found out that instead of plain boring broth, I like regular chicken noodle soup or vegetable soup cooked & then drained. Much more flavorful! Well, time to go walk around th ehouse a bit! Talk to you all soon! Priscilla

Priscilla, what wonderful news. Glad your surgery went well and you are back home and feeling better already. Good idea about the soup broth, you are right, it would taste better. Mary

Hi, Priscilla... Welcome home!!!! Doesn't that first shower feel the best???!!! Second one does, too (had THAT one today!) I totally agree with you on the broth thing... By the end of day 1 pre-op, I had gone through three cans of plain chicken broth. The first one smelled like turkey dinner. By the time we got to the third one that day, it was...well, u get the picture. Let's just say the smell of it was kinda getting to me. I looked at my husband and said, "I just want some homestyle chicken-noodle soup broth." So we went to the store, bought all different flavors of soups (including chicken noodle) and then he strained them for me. He added the veggie and meat to his meal and I had the broth. So good!! Interestingly enough, I remember that the Progresso 'Steak and Potatoes' broth tasted strongly of peas, but it was good. Now, I can whip up the whole can in the blender and freeze in those little white paper condiment cups. The plastic ones medicine cups will crack. (Just a little tip) Take care...and keep us posted on your 'losing' side experiences! -Karen

I feel like you right now....home and doing good. Mine WLS was 11/6 and came home yesterday. Had my first shower today.....that was awesome. Still fighting a bit with little headaches at bedtime, but other than that, pretty good. I too am bored with the liquids, but nothing else sounds good either, so stick to it. Congratulaions, glad to hear that other people are having great experiences with the surgery. Talk to you soon, Kathryn
