I have a Date!!! Need Help Please!!!

Great News!!! I just got my surgery date of 11-25-03, and pre-op date of 11-20-03. However, my husband is legally blind, and I am unable to find someone who can take me, and bring me home. We live in Jax, FL and my surgery is in Ocala, (Dr Jawad, of course) which is about 2 - 2 1/2 hrs away. We will pay for your gas, if you can help us out. Our car is 14 yrs old and I am also afraid it wont make the long drive on the pre-op date. I also need someone to be my "witness" that day since I will be signing papers. It will be an all day event, I am told. I am desperate. I had figured I could count on my mother, but she refuses to take off work for her reasons that dont make any sense to me, especially when she claims to support me in this. I live in Indiana. I would do it if I lived in Florida. Surely someone will help you. I will pray with you. Maybe someone is in your area that can help. Do you have any support groups? If so maybe someone in that group could help you. I wish you luck. God Bless, Congrats on your surgery.

Rhonda, post on the Florida state message board. Crossing my fingers you will find someone to help you out. Do you belong to any support group locally? Ask the members there for help too. You might also ask Dr. Jawad office if they have any suggestions for you. Know you will get it all worked out. Wishing you the best. Mary

Thanks for the encouragement and supportive comments. I do not belong to a local support group, but to one online and all of them are out of state or would help me out. They are great.
