If an EGD is the same as an endoscopy ... my brother had one a couple of weeks ago. They gave him some "happy juice" and he didn't remember a thing until he woke up. He said it was no big deal. You will be fine. Don't dwell on it, keep busy. Mary

Crystal, I just try to remember this when I am going through something that scares me, PEOPLE SURVIVE THIS EVERY DAY!! You will be fine! Think of how scary the pain of child birth is? And women survive that pain and live to tell about it later!! : ) You will do good, now let's talk about my clear liquid fast tomorrow the day before my surgery, now that SCARES ME!!! LOL!!!!! But seriously, I agree with the previous poster, I have worked in the GI lab and when every single one of the patients wakes up after their EGD they ask when they are going in!! And they are so surprised and happy to hear they are done! I'll be thinking about you and praying for a speedy procedure!! Take care!! Kristen

Not sure if I sent you an email about this or not...but in case not... DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE EDG! It is NOTHING! And believe me...I'm a big chicken when it comes to medical tests...and I was so freaked out before my EDG. Literally in tears. Then...it was over. No pain, no discomfort...it was nothing literally. Maybe 90 seconds start to finish. A lot of burping. No urge to throw up, no gagging. They'll give you nice drugs that will relax you if not put you to sleep. Think about it like this..in the time it takes you to watch one NIKE commerical, the test will be over and done with.
