anyone else been told they have to pay their deductable up front? I was just found out today that I have to pay $500 up front on day of surgery--JEEBUS thanks for the whole 5 days advance notice. I had to borrow the cash from my grandparents. this really blows big time. i wish they would have told me this earlier. anyways, my advice now would be CALL YOUR DOC/INS/Hospital and find out for sure, cause i am glad i founf out now instead of on the 4th when i went in for the procedure.

When I finally got my surgery date I was advised that my hospital co-pay could be anywhere from $100 - $500 and told to check with my insurance. I was miffed because I have been dealing with the surgeon's office FOREVER and no one ever mentioned. I called Kaiser and found out I don't have a co-pay since it will be an inpatient procedure.

I went to 2 different doctors information sessions and at both we were told that the up front cost would be $6000 for one doctor and $500-$300 for the other, and it would be due 2 weeks before our date.

Yes, I had to pay all my co-pays at each office visit, then will pay my co-pay upon admission to the hospital. Fortunately the hospital co-pay for me is only $100.

I have to pay 2K out of pocket, but BTC doesn't require it up front. THANK GOD. They said I can make payments on it, and not to worry about it until after surgery.
