Falling off the wagon...

OK Guys, My pre-op is Friday 10/31 & Surgery is 11/7. I have been SOOOO good. I lost 40lbs to get here. From 320 to 279. I have been stuck at 279/280 for about a month, but now I started to relax a little about what I am eating, especially since many things will be off limits for a long time if not forever. Plus it was my wedding Anv this last Sunday. No excuses, but I about died when I stepped on the scale and was back up to 288. My friends have said not to freak out too bad about it, especially since the end is in sight. Anyway to shed some of this pretty quickly so it won't seem so bad at my pre-op appt?

Beverly, I definitely wouldn't get into that whole self bashing business. The fact is, you have done a fantastic job and lost an awful lot of weight. Just dust yourself off and get back on the wagon and start again today! You can do it, you already have! Good luck! By the way, Happy Anniversary to you!!

How awesome are YOU!!!!! You have lost FORTY lbs! That is great. Don't beat yourself up about the little bit you gained. I bet it will drop right back off real quick. So, did your surgeon require that you lose weight before surgery? Why is that?

Beverly, get back on track with high protein/low carb eating, lots of water and the weight will come right off. I lost 46 lbs as of yesterday doing mostly high protein/low carbs. I have found that if I ate high carb foods like bread, potatoes (didn't have to be goodies) that I could immediately gain some weight. Then when I got back on track it would come off pretty quickly. Wishing you the best. Mary

Girl you are a better person than I am. My surgeron doesn't require you to lose any weight before the surgery. So, the last two weeks, I have been "pigging" out! I swore I would give up my diet coke, but NOPE...I brought another case yesterday!! (I do share with DH). So, don't freak. You are normal! Realistically we won't be able to eat the things or eat the way we do now ever again. So, bon appetite!!

Thank you all for your response. My Surgeon does require weight loss before surgery, but by the time I met with him I had lost 30 of the 40 lbs, and starting at 320, he agreed that showed my determination an met his requirements anyway, so he didn't require more weight to be lost. I'm trying not to beat myself up about it. I just didn't want to show a gain at my pre-op appt. I don't think my having the surgery would be threatened unless I gained back most of the weight I lost. I am very thankful for this place. You guys are great. Good luck to all of you who's date is coming up! Bev
