family medical leave act

MY hubby wanted to be with me the first week of my surg. His employer told him he would have to go under the familty medical leave act. They sent him home with a stack of papers to have Dr Cole fill out. Has anyone had to do this? Will Dr Cole fill these out? Does this fallin that catigory? Pleaseif anyone has any infor on this I would be Great! God Bless 18 days to go!!!!!!!

Hello Debroah, when I have my surgery next month I will be on FMLA which allows a person to miss work for medical reasons for themself, a spouse, or child etc. Being under FMLA an employer has to excuse the time off requested. My doctors office did fill the paper work out which they were very aware of. I just gave them to them at my appointment because I had them with me provided from my HR dept. at work. The doctors offices are use to filling out FMLA papers.
