Hi All: My surgery date was 11/13/2002 and to date I have lost from a starting weight of 276 down to 153. Minus 123 pounds!!! I am loving it for sure. My weight loss has slowed down tremendously, but it is still going down ever so slow. At least it is not going up, LOL. Glad to have stumbled over this area. Congrats to everyone on their great weight loss.

Rebecca, my weight loss has also slowed down dramatically. I think my window for rapid weight loss has closed, but I am still losing every so slowly now. You didn't say how much weight you still need to lose. I have lost 83 pounds since 11/7, but only about 13 in the last 3-4 months. I am within 15-20 pounds of my revised goal now, so I am thinking that these last pounds are going to be very, very hard work to get off. Not that the first pounds were easy, but I think I am going to have to "take it up a notch." I joined a gym three weeks ago, and adding weight training to my treadmill workout has helped me lose six pounds, where I only lost three pounds all the previous month. Yesterday I also increased the intensity and speed of the treadmill time. I have been guilty the past week or so of eating more carbs than I did before, so starting tomorrow I'm getting on the protein train that everyone is talking about. Hopefully the increased exercise and protein will help me get to goal. I really want to be there by November, and that's only three months away. I want to lose at least 4 pounds per month, but more would be great. Hope you are able to kick start your weight loss again. God Bless, Gerry

Hi all, just wanted to see if anyone else is still stuck like me. I am so happy for what I have lost already but at the same time I am really scared that it's over. I had surgery on 11/1/02 and lost 77lbs at 4months out. Today, July 21, I am only at 88lbs gone. That's 4 months with only 11l bs...I am so worried. If anyone else is in my shoes please reply. oxox to all and God Bless

Hey, Robert, you are so right and I love your analogy about us being on the train now! I am so thankful that I was able to have this life changing surgery! I feel so much better, almost on a daily basis. A friend of mine who had surgery recently is having issues with feeling like she is disappearing along with her weight, but I just cannot relate to that...I am happy all the time! (My folks live in SC outside of Charleston, but I live in VA.)

Hey Gang...It's been 8 MONTHS since my surgery and the anniversary for so many others as well. And that is the OPERATIVE WORD....WELL!
THANKS Eric Klein and "OBESITY HELP" for giving us a forum and providing all of us with a place to post messages to the world. This allows so many of us a LIGHT at the end of our tunnels and we know it's not a TRAIN COMING DOWN THE TRACKS at us, but us on the train going down the tracks and that light is shinning forward to a better healthier and improved life.
I know here in SOUTH CAROLINA it's been a fantastic ride and I am so thankful that I got on this train. MY LIGHT IS SHINNING FORWARD!~
