Topic: RE: Helloooo Out There!!!
Good to see the other "November Stars" for 2002 ... had my WLS on November 15th, two days before my birthday ... so basically had a rebirth so to speak ... just came 31 years later. ;)
Its now about 10 months out, my last weigh in was around 2 weeks ago and was down 167 lbs then. I have come to find that is alot easier if you dont weigh yourself daily or weekly. I am a light excerciser, usually walk my dog in the evening for a mile or so, but it still helps out and gets me moving.
Personally, I have found using Carb Soultions Protein Shake mix pretty good ... I use it with some 2% low fat milk ... so comes to about 30g+ of protein in the morning for a cup. As well, it comes with alot of vitamins that you regularly need. As for the sugar count its around 10g ... but its okay, probably could just do it with water but you forgo about 9-10g of protein in that cup.. Usually 10-12g of sugar with a meal is fine from what my doctor has told me.

Dear Rebecca,
I am 9.5 months post op and dowqn 57 pounds. I started at 230 but had hoped for more. However, I feel so much better that at 230 that I'm happy for anything. It would be interesting to see a realistic expectation of what we may lose. Just so we would know the probability of are expectations. You are not alone. Carla

Congrads to you laura!! I was at 315 when i had surgery on nov 13th. Now i am down to 184. I stopped keeping calculations on how much that is. But i have lost close to 150 lbs all together since june of last year.
Feels wonderful doesnt it?
My goal is 150 right now. But as i get closer i might drop that some to around 140-145!
Topic: RE: Spousal jealousy/weight loss
actually i have had more friends be jealous and say weird things and act weirdly around me now... my hubby is more jealous than before and is always so insecure that i am gonna leave him now. So i ask him what the difference is now than before. Did he only get with me cause i was comforting cause i was fat and he knew i couldnt get anyone else? He says no. That he was afraid before. But i dont think thats true. One positive point is when we get up in the morning, its great to hear him say how sexy he thinks i am. But it does get annoying to hear him complain that he is gonna probably lose me to someone that is better fit or better looking than he is. I try to show him and tell him every day that he is gorgeous to me and i want no other. I think men are just very insecure when you start looking better. It's more comforting to them when we arent as in good of health and dont look as good.

Laura, I know exactly how you feel. I weighed yesterday and I am down 102 pounds!! I finally made the century club. I thought that I would never get here. I feel tons better than I did, and I am within 2 pounds of being what I was when my husband met me 14 years ago. I have 14 pounds to my realistic goal of 145, but 19 pounds to go for my dream goal of 140. I know that is only 5 pounds difference, but it makes a world of difference the smaller you get. Funny HUH? I am excited for you and all the other post ops out there that are discovering the "new life" within themselves through the benfit of having this surgery. God Bless to all, and best wishes on your journey......
