Topic: I can't believe I've made it this far!
Well, if you read my member info here, you will see that I had a very rough start with my lap RnY. Mercifully, I was under the care of top flight surgeons and medical persons, therapists and my personal trainer to whom I owe a great debt of gratitude. I had my surgery on 11/26/02. It's now late September and I'm now down 107 lbs! I now weigh 143 with a BMI of 27. I've gone from a 24 to an 8 or 10. I feel so confident that I have a great tool now that can help me sustain a healthy body weight for the remainder of my life! I've worked at this very diligently, though...I eat a low carb diet, get all my vitamins and water, take all prescribed medications and here's the clincher: I EXERCISE EVERY DAY. I am certain this has been the reason why my weight loss has been quick and that I have very little redundant skin. Dare I say, I am almost getting BUFF! *grin* I hope all of you are doing well, too. I wasn't pleased during the first stages of my recovery, but I can honestly say today that it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. YAY rah! for bariatric surgery! Best to all of you, Maria

Topic: I crave sweets
Hi I am 5'3 and I weighed 284. I now weigh 165 lbs and am exercising hard 4-5 times a week. I also square dance on Sundays. I also have been losing the same five lbs but for two months and I now find myself craving candy all the time. I am feeling desperate about this craving for candy and am afraid of gaining weight back let alone wanting to lose another 10 lbs. At my highest weight I didn't often overeat I just ate 8 candy bars a day plus other desserts. Is someone else having this problem? Help please. What can I do? If you have further questions email me at [email protected] Thanks and have a great day.

Hey all my November buddies! 10 months out today for me and I'm feeling great. I don't know about all of you but life is much happier now. I'm more confident (a little two confident sometimes..lol), and am loving life. I have about 65lbs to go to my reasonable goal of 175. I don't plan on being a size 5 (never was) so I'm just glad to be that much closer! God Bless you all! Dawn

I'm down to 143 pounds in only 10 months!!!!!!!!1 And just by looking at the titles of the messages here I can tell that most of you are as happy as I am. I'd even be happy if I stopped at this weight (I'm 5'3), because I like the way I look (well with clothes on that is). but that's enough for me! Thank you Dr. Sanderfer and thank you whoever started this miricle surgery.!!! Good luck to everyone thinking of changing their lives. It is so so worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Topic: Other site stole my profile and put it on their site!
Night before last I search my obesityhelp name through my internet connection and found a surgery page of Tina K from this site where I had posted a comment. http://www.coloradobariatrics.com/status.phtml?N=K1003830576 Out of curiosity I clicked on my name and my profile from this site (pictures, music and all) was posted on ColoradoBariatrics.com Dr. Tillquist is not my surgeon! I was confused as Dr Babs is so I continued to look over the page. They had altered it to omit Dr Babs as my surgeon and omitted the hospital. At the bottom of page it says "Click here to see other patients of Dr. Tillquist" implying I was his patient. When I right clicked on my pics to see properties, I found that had copied them to their site. I emailed Obesityhelp right away and asked them to have Colorado Bariatrics remove my stolen profile!4 other people have had the same problem and their altered profiles are there too. I almost removed my profile from here but decided not to. The main reason I decided to update my profile was to help myself see my jouney and for others who are thinking about having the surgery. If someone gains something from reading it then I am proud. Its sad that a site has to steal "patients" to look good! Long post but Im venting...lol My profile on there is at http://www.coloradobariatrics.com/profile.phtml?N=N1031615986

Wtg..........wonderful feeling isn't it. I was 10 months out on Sept 08 and have lost 82 lbs. I want to loose 10 more before Nov. Started entering my foods on Fitday.com again...just to see where I might be going astray.....lol. Found I had not been eating enough protein or drinking enough water....so i am back on tract again. I have never had vomiting and not even a cold...so we are truly blessed......Keep up the great work and you will hit your goal.......

Topic: 10 months out this very day!!
Hello all my WL friends...today marks 10 months since having Open RNY and I am down 88 pounds!! My date was 11/18/02 and my first goal is to be down 100 lbs the first year...that give me 2 months to lose 12 pounds...Mmmmm, wonder if I can do it!! I turn 45 next month and I have to tell you, since this surgery I have gone "bassackward" in age!! I mean I feel 25 instead of 45!! This has been a most amazing "ride" and it's not even really gotten started!! We are all still WLS babies....lol....as we, or "I" am still learning the in's and out's...do's and don'ts.....but I have been truly blessed... I have not had "one" problem since this surgery other than a little hair loss... no being sick, throwing up, dumping......Let's hope the next 10 months are just as "worry free"!! lol I will look forward to seeing you all here in November to get the "ONE YEAR" updates.......love and light, Lisa
