Hi all, just wanted to see if anyone else is still stuck like me. I am so happy for what I have lost already but at the same time I am really scared that it's over. I had surgery on 11/1/02 and lost 77lbs at 4months out. Today, July 21, I am only at 88lbs gone. That's 4 months with only 11l bs...I am so worried. If anyone else is in my shoes please reply. oxox to all and God Bless

Rebecca, my weight loss has also slowed down dramatically. I think my window for rapid weight loss has closed, but I am still losing every so slowly now. You didn't say how much weight you still need to lose. I have lost 83 pounds since 11/7, but only about 13 in the last 3-4 months. I am within 15-20 pounds of my revised goal now, so I am thinking that these last pounds are going to be very, very hard work to get off. Not that the first pounds were easy, but I think I am going to have to "take it up a notch." I joined a gym three weeks ago, and adding weight training to my treadmill workout has helped me lose six pounds, where I only lost three pounds all the previous month. Yesterday I also increased the intensity and speed of the treadmill time. I have been guilty the past week or so of eating more carbs than I did before, so starting tomorrow I'm getting on the protein train that everyone is talking about. Hopefully the increased exercise and protein will help me get to goal. I really want to be there by November, and that's only three months away. I want to lose at least 4 pounds per month, but more would be great. Hope you are able to kick start your weight loss again. God Bless, Gerry

Dear Rebecca, I am 9.5 months post op and dowqn 57 pounds. I started at 230 but had hoped for more. However, I feel so much better that at 230 that I'm happy for anything. It would be interesting to see a realistic expectation of what we may lose. Just so we would know the probability of are expectations. You are not alone. Carla

Hi ya Rebecca, I can relate to what you are saying. Since my surgery on 11/08/02 I have lost 82 lbs and lately it is very hard to lose any. Discouraging at times...I know I have slipped into the late night snack routine and need to get back to the three times a day meals......period. I do dump so that is a blessing. Don't do much sugar and have to avoid fried foods period!! Thank god because I used to love fried shrimp.....only food I really miss. I need to go back to the protein drinks too. I think that will really help us......keep me posted and head up dear, you have come along way!! Rita
