Helloooo Out There!!!
Hi there! Happy 1/2 anniversary to all of you. I had my lap band surgery on 11/20/02 and am down 89 pounds. I started at a size 28 jean and 30-32 (4-5X) top, and am down to size 18 jeans and size 1X top. I can't wait to start shopping in the regular size women's clothing department. I still have 71 more pounds to get to goal, but I'll get there eventually, as we all will! Continued good luck to each and every one of you! Hello, just stumbled across this page somehow...thought I would give my updates to all you Novemeber babes....I had Lap RNY Nov 18th......All is well !
No problems- I eat well, most days I feel well- I have lost 105lbs, would like to lose 47 more to make it to my personal goal. Hope all is well, would love to hear from anyone. Kim 327/222/175
Hey, It's great to hear all you November dates are doing so well too. I had my surgery on November 26th, 2002. As of Easter, I was down 106 lbs. I know I'm down more now, but haven't been able to weigh myself since then. I've been out of state visiting my family. My mother doesn't believe in scales. But I go home this weekend and I have a Drs. appointment June 3rd. I'm looking forward to it. I still have a ways to go. About 150 lbs. But I feel so much better already. I look better and have oodles more energy. Which is great because I have a 2 year old boy. Anyway, glad to hear everyone is doing so well.
Hi and Congrads to all that have lost and are winners by losing!!!! I have lost a total of 124 lbs couting weight loss right before surgery! I am so happy to have lost all this weight! I am also scared that it is gonna slow down. I have a pretty hard time getting in my protein, but i am gonna try harder! My hair loss slowed down a bit after getting my hair cut really short. But i think i look great! My hair can always grow back! I am always up for good recipes myself! Or tips at getting all the protein i can get!! HUGS to all of you and email me if you like! Hey there....didn't know this board existed, just found it somehow! I'm doing AWESOME, feeling WONDERFUL!! I have lost 91 pounds and have about 20 more to go. I had an Open RNY 11-15-02 with Dr. Coster, of Grinnell, IA. The weight loss has really slowed down for me, about 2 pounds a week now if I'm lucky, but it's still coming off!!! I have been going to Curves as my committment to exercise, try and get there 3 times a week, for the last 3 months now. I still drink my Isopure protein drink every day and truly eat cottage cheese, beef jerky, peanut butter, or some other high protein snack daily, just as added protein. I love chicken salad but do eat things like pizza once in a while, just really small portions compared to my old "whole pizza"....oh my, how embarrassing!! Anyway, this is the best thing I've ever done for myself. I look forward to beginning to jog with my 14 year old daughter soon, have always wanted to be a jogger, but no way before now! My husband is truly proud of me and has been my biggest cheerleader through it all, even in the beginning when so many were negative about the decision of WLS. No more GERD, no more borderline diabetic, no more joint swelling and aches and pains, no more shortness of breath, no more crying over clothes that don't fit, no more NO periods-never had them on my own, always used medications, now regular!! (Sorry, know that was a bit personal, but just another way my body is getting to NORMAL!!). The list goes on and on....great to have this board, hope more use it regularly. Best to all and Congrats on all your progress so far! Carol
Happy to see the rest of my November pals are doing so well! I had open RNY on 11-18-02 with Dr. Snyder in Westminster, CO. I have lost 109 lbs and gone from a 3X to 18's. My comorbidities have pretty much disappeared. This is the thinnest and healthiest I have been in 30 years. I can't believe the difference sometimes. You give up things slowly over so many years that you don't realize what is missing until you get it back. I work out at Curves 3 days a week (LOVE IT!!) and walk the other 4 days. Didn't start to exercise until May, but now I am loving it. Before I was a real couch potatoe and HATED the thought of exercise. My how things change! Even thought I had to self pay, this is the best thing I ever did for myself!!
Well, congrats to all the Nov. bypasses. After reading the postings, I believe, I have lost the least. I don't know everybody's starting weight or heights. I was 5'9" 272 and now I am 210-62 pound weight loss. Is any one out there near my ht. and weight and at 7 months now? I feel great and I am a size 14/16. My doctor thinks I'll reach 180, but my weight loss is about one pund per week average or 4 pounds per month the last three months! I have gone fait5hfully to the Slender Lady (Like Curves) for three years. I am very active. JM
Good to see the other "November Stars" for 2002 ... had my WLS on November 15th, two days before my birthday ... so basically had a rebirth so to speak ... just came 31 years later. ;)
Its now about 10 months out, my last weigh in was around 2 weeks ago and was down 167 lbs then. I have come to find that is alot easier if you dont weigh yourself daily or weekly. I am a light excerciser, usually walk my dog in the evening for a mile or so, but it still helps out and gets me moving.
Personally, I have found using Carb Soultions Protein Shake mix pretty good ... I use it with some 2% low fat milk ... so comes to about 30g+ of protein in the morning for a cup. As well, it comes with alot of vitamins that you regularly need. As for the sugar count its around 10g ... but its okay, probably could just do it with water but you forgo about 9-10g of protein in that cup.. Usually 10-12g of sugar with a meal is fine from what my doctor has told me.
