Topic: RE: October Surgery!!!!
I am! I am! Oct. 18! I started this long, long journey in August 2011, met with the surgeon on Dec. 14 only to be told my insurance wouldn't cover the VSG. Was advised to wait 6 months to see if insurance would review and possibly provide coverage. No such luck, so I decided to go with the gastric bypass. I'm excited and nervous at the same time, but I guess everyone here understands exactly how I feel. The big difference is, I'm a dialysis patient, and I'll still have to get myself to dialysis three times a week, even when I'd rather be home recuperating. But we have to do what we have to do, right? Best of luck to everyone!

Topic: Was Sleeved Oct. 2.
Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself to this forum.  I was sleeved on October 2.  I feel fantastic, have very little discomfort, and have lost 13 lbs since surgery morning.

Having this surgery is such an incredible opportunity and I am so glad to have been brave enough to go through with it.

Good luck to all those with upcoming surgeries.

I just got sleeved on the 3rd and had the same problem.  I'm sleeping so much better since I got home.  Need to get out of the house though.  Hope everything went well!

Topic: RE: Liquid Diet!
My pre-op liver reducer is a 14 day diet but it consists of the following:
1.) 3 Protein type drinks per day--
2.) 2 lite menu frozen dinners btw 250 and 350 calories per day---
3.) 2 cups of frozen vegetables--no sauces---per day
4.) 8 --8 ounce glasses of water or zero calorie liquid
5.) 1 Hour of excercise in 15 minute chunks...

Toughest part--all the liquid--this is hard for me--hard time with just plain H2O--need something in it for me...
